  1. Just took a drive up to nearby Trimsaran and Pen-y-Mynydd which is at around 160m asl and there is plenty of lying snow there - deep drifts against hedges, and side roads are still completely covered. Elevation really does make a big difference! Snow falling nicely up there when I left but more of a sleety mix down in Llanelli.
  2. Hammering it down here at the moment! With rain though!
  3. Temperature wayy too high here at the moment 2.3c...though it is dropping slowly!
  4. Do you think this could be less marginal for coastal area's than last fridays event as things stand with the NAE at the moment?
  5. There are some surprisingly big flakes mixed in every now and then! Is that band on the radar to our NW moving SE'ly?
  6. Yes, it has just started snowing here! Light though
  7. If we do get some snow tonight/tomorrow I hope it's not as marginal as last time for us in Llanelli...4 hours of rain beforehand ruined the snow accumulation depths here
  8. Just started to snow here again, can't see much on the radar though!
  9. Really!? Where in Swansea are you? I'm guessing your elevation has made a big difference
  10. We've had around 1 and a half inches here so far, still snowing but small flakes
  11. Everything turning white! Brilliant Temp continuing to fall 0.6c.
  12. Dry here too, can still see lights towards burry holmes on the end of the gower so no substantial precipitation falling here yet
  13. Tony in 2004 I measured 6 inches of snow from a pembrokeshire dangler, which is the most I've ever seen. We were very lucky that night since the streamer ran through Llanelli and some surrounding areas for many hours in the night. Apart from that 2 inches would of been the most I can remember since the start of the 90's.
  14. Someone in the south west thread is posting updates showing the cold air from france racing across the English channel and turning the precip to snow on the precip type radar...looking good!
  15. Latest NAE looks slightly better again for western areas to me...!
  16. Was planning on sleeping earlier tonight and waking up early...don't think im going to be able to sleep full stop! Its all too tense!
  17. Yes, Similar here it's dropped half a degree in the space of half an hour. Wind picking up too
  18. The yellow warning area has been expanded to cover all but the very tip of Pembrokeshire
  19. After seeing this mornings charts I'm starting to get my hopes up...a lot! I know theres still time to go but this could be the first significant snowfall here for a long time after the surprising lack of snow in my area during Dec 2010
