Yes mostly wet snow, tends to be on the back edge of the showers at the moment. Just had another heavy hail shower but definitely had some snow flakes blowing about towards the end!
Quite a few wintry showers have passed through here, rain, hail, sleet, wet snow, the lot. The wind is also quite strong especially in the showers, but as of yet no proper snow falling
There's something which I dont understand, hope someone can explain for me.....The NAE rainfall/snowfall charts show snow out at sea so with that obviously being at sea level, why is it unlikely for us to have snow on land at sea level?
Met office got a yellow warning out for tues/wed for snow on the hills above 100m, 10cm or more possible, and even slushy accumulations at lower levels!

Interesting NAE chart? If it verifies...not too far out though!
Yea your right I do remember them complaining when I first joined years ago, at the time we were enjoying 6 inches of the stuff! On saying that in the past 10 years or so I do remember a few winters where we had nothing at all in our area, not sure if that's been the case in Swansea? The snow depths always seem to be very localised and change dramatically over just a few miles.
Can't complain with a bit of wintry weather thats likely to happen this week, even if it just means a few flakes or hail showers or whatever, anything's better than what we've had recently. I enjoy looking at the pictures from Scotland etc. like above! May even get something similar down here this winter if we are lucky, fingers crossed
Oh dear....looks as if somebody at channel 4 got bored on microsoft excel during their lunchbreak and thought it would be a good idea to make a forecast map....
Looks interesting nonetheless, always had a feeling that the colder weather would turn up out of the blue this year after the recent mildness, hopefully some of us will see something wintry! Just got to keep an eye on the models now

Ahh haven't been on here for a while! Last winter was a massive disappointment for snow in this area as crazy as that sounds, while areas 10-20 miles away got hammered with snow the coastal area around Llanelli missed the brunt of everything, 2 inches I think we had at most! There was just no intensity to it whatsoever, mostly really small flakes. The best snowfalls I've seen usually come out of the blue, so hopefully this year will bring something better!
Nice weather at the moment...may be slightly boring for some but at least its not raining! Those nights of radar watching seem ages ago right now
