  1. I was actually right!! Unfortunately i was in London all day so missed the action at home in Swindon!!
  2. I think any storms forming later will follow the same path as this mornings rain band.Isle of Wight and NE.
  3. I have been watching the precip building and approaching the south coast roughly Poole area, anyone else watching this?
  4. There are loads of Painted Ladys here in Swindon.Never before have i noticed so many, they are the most common butterfly in my garden this year. I haven't seen a hummingbird hawk moth in my garden for 2 years now.Fantastic creatures.
  5. This is the best year for butterflies here for 2 years! My purple Buddlia is in blossom and it is teaming with butterflies. Most common is the Painted lady, they are everywhere. Also spotted are the usual cabbage whites, also tortoiseshell (sp) and Peacocks.I haven't spotted any Red Admirals yet.
  6. Some very lively showers have past through Swindon with torrential rain.As usual they are turning electrical as they move East, already past Swindon! Fingers crossed for later.
  7. I think 2009 has been the worst year locally for storms, just a couple of flashes last week.I have noticed that there have been quite a few storms around the UK this year but they are just not coming this way!!
  8. Just been clipped by one of these showers. Not electrical but quite large convective drops.
  9. My family was from Battersea but i'd never go back. <_<
  10. He lives just off the Purley Way and was saying the lightning was south towards Coulsdon.
  11. Nothing in the Swindon area again!! Just been chatting to my Uncle in Croydon who's having some lightning.
  12. Some very heavy rain atm over cornwall, anyone down that way as there looks like a potential for flooding?
  13. Storms everywhere again but here!! Terrible year.
  14. Swindon shield holding well!! everything is to the East.
  15. Again Swindon misses everything!! Storms are becoming electrical from the Milands northwards. Can't wait to see the map showing the locations of strikes over the course of the year, there will be a big white dot with Swindon in the middle surrounded by a mass of red crosses.
  16. Swindon normally 'catches' a couple of great storms a year but this year has been an exception..............nothing at all in terms of an electrical storm, very unusual considering all the storms i've watched on radar happening around the country.
  17. Sounds superb for all you guys that had a storm, still nothing here in Swindon totally gutting as this heat now slips away.
  18. Wow radar is looking great!! Loads of electrical activity over the Channel.I think they'll survive the crossing and head in a NNW direction.Southern counties could see some storms in the early morning i think.
  19. I personally think storms will spread as far East as Oxford.
  20. There is a thin band of rain moving North from France, over the channel and now heading towards Swindon.Just rain at the moment but you never know!
  21. Nothing here yet again!! It's hot and sticky so i fancy a moan!
  22. From Swindon looking NE towards Oxford i can see the convection towers probably forming on the convergence line running between London and Brum.
