  1. Insane stuff here, and right when I wasn't expecting it! 4.5cm lying on the road at last measure. A358 is crawling.. very nasty. Still snowing.
  2. I'm waiting for a break in the snow so I can take some pics, but it's still absolutely pelting it down out there.
  3. Heavy snow here for a while, whiteout conditions at times. 3.5cm lying on the roads and pavements ATM. Very slippy and treacherous out there!
  4. I just looked at the radar and thought 'What? that can't be right!'. Then I looked out the window and saw it was. Heavy snow and settling!
  5. The temp here has started to fall slightly again for the first time in about 4 hours here. -0.2c currently. Think I'll wait to see what GFS 18z shows for Thurs and then head out with the camera.
  6. Have you got a ruler or a tape measure handy? It's 3cm so far here and still snowing.
  7. Seconded! If you only listened to the radio or watched TV you'd forget the SW even existed today.
  8. Still snowing here, 3cm of lying snow on the pavement.
  9. Snow is getting heavier and is sticking to the road right away, presumably because the temps are now subzero.
  10. I just got back from a job in Ilminster and can confirm it's snowy there. Here's what it looked like when I set out, and here's a random shot in Ilminster.
  11. Woah, much heavier now and sticking! Pix to follow.
  12. I'm glad to see I was wrong then. Snowing here now, settling a little bit. Let's see how much we can get before the day's out.
  13. It definitely looks like it's turning to the North.
  14. I dunno. The NW Radar suggests it's going to turn and go North before reaching us.
  15. Yeah, same here. Fingers crossed that the heavier line to the East of us will bring something a bit more impressive soon.
  16. MetO warnings have been updated for Tuesday : http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_...t_warnings.html
  17. MetO warnings updated for Tuesday! Cornwall and Devon now orange!
  18. I'm going to have to stop watching the GFS. It looks so good got here that I can only end up being disappointed.
  19. 06z GFS looks alright for today, perhaps a bit better even. All eyes are on thursday onwards tho'.
  20. Looks like the MetO have updated their forecast for the SW again, although it doesn't look much different to me?
  21. Wait.. it's back again! It's like MetO warning roulette today.
  22. It's been ages since we had proper snow down here. I still can't believe we've got any chance, so even a dusting would be great.
  23. AFAIK aspartame was not developed by Monsanto; it was developed in 1965 by a chemist working for G.D. Searle & Company. It wasn't until 20 years later that Monsanto bought G.D. Searle and thus the rights to aspartame. So what Monsanto's alleged conduct with regards to genetic engineering has to do with the science behind the safety of a sweetener that they didn't develop I'm not quite sure. Did it become more dangerous after Monsanto bought the rights to it?
