    It is weird as even though the sky looks gloomy and fearing nothing will happen, it also feels so still and eerie like it's just waiting to go bang. Don't know if that's my wishful thinking though lol

    Keeping fingers crossed! I'm just on my way from Sheffield back towards Hull and on the M62. Skies has darkened considerably but looking mucky and few spots of rain started. Very oppressive and temps 25c.

    Hi dangerous. I'm originally from Wrexham but currently on holiday just to the south of Hull. Are my chances better there? Would hate back home to get more than me whilst I'm away lol (which would be typical tbh!!)

    Haha yeah I normally jinx things so hoping this is not going to be the case. It'd be my luck wrexham got more action seeing as I'm not there atm. I'm in Sheffield today but coming back late afternoon, staying in Raywell near Hull.

    Just seen 3 cracking CG strikes far off in the distance, some intermittent faint flashing and 2 bright flashes through my bedroom window. Would these be the storms breaking out over Birmingham area I can see??

    We'll I'm sitting in my kitchen, been reading this forum all afternoon and evening and looking at the lightning detector constantly! My weather station predicts rain, temp has dropped from 23c a hour or so ago and it's now 19.4c, but humidity rising steadily and currently 62%. Please can someone tell me, what are the chances of a thunderstorm in Wrexham!? I can't cope with the anticipation lol

    That's all I've heard as well, though its still looking pretty black out there. Only thing I've been glad about is that I was going out and decided to bring my washing in before I went. Good job as there was some quite big rain drops. Never saw any lightning either :-(

    Been sat in the garden for the past hour looking at the skies and not a single flash or rumble, not even in the distance. Shouldn't be surprised though. Load of crap once again for this area!! Lol

    Oh no, I'd be gutted! It wasn't the greatest storm ever but some good cracks of thunder (1 in particular overhead made me jump a mile!). There was some great cloud formations too. Hoping we get another one soon in this storm starved part of the country lol

    Woo hoo nice thunderstorm over Wrexham atm. Only saw one flash of lightning but heard about 12 good rumbles of thunder, including one that shook the windows lol. Finally I've got a storm, shame I didn't see more lightning but can't have it all lol Took a nice shot of a double rainbow at the beginning of the storm :-)

    I suppose that's something then lol. I'm gonna hope for the best, expect the worst as every time I've been confident something will happen, nothing has (well unless you class 1 bang of thunder as something happening lol)

    Well it rained early this morning about 5-6am quite heavily but when I got I'm from work today at 6pm the ground is bone dry again. I want a big storm!! Not fair lol

    Feeling totally peed off as again been a let down here. Had 1 clap of thunder this morning at 6.20am and everywhere to the east of us were covered in strikes on the radar!! It's looked stormy all day and very humid but not even 1 drop of rain. So disappointed!!

    Woo am feeling more hopeful now. Sun is finally starting to show who's boss and it looks like the cloud might finally break. Keeping fingers, toes and everything else crossed!!

    Hi, could anyone tell me how likely that Wrexham will get a thunderstorm today or tonight? It's currently very cloudy though looking like the sun is trying its might to break through. Not sure if it'll manage it though lol. I'm desperate for a storm :-)

    Yeah, just had another small flash and more distant rumble, but seems like it is moving away. I'm just chuffed to see one flash of lightning though and I'm tired, but don't want to go to sleep! The atmosphere feels like its just gonna go bang in good style! Fingers crossed

    WOW! Massive flash a minute of so ago. Was just drying my hair by the window and the flash blinded me. Nearly jumped out my skin!! lol. Good rumble of thunder just after too. OOOOHHH and again!!! Massive flash YESSSSS!

    Actually just started raining quite heavily here and bit of a breeze now. The sky has that murky orange colour you get when storms are about.

    I'm not far from Wrexham town centre and haven't heard any thunder at all, or seen any flashes. I was all set for bed a couple hours ago but may end up staying awake all night now lol
