    Epic squall of hail / sleet here now. Howling gale and really heavy precipitation

    These are like Thames Estuary streamers. They keep popping up off the Kent coast and heading straight for us. More to come methinks.

    I've had at least 8-10 inches of dry snow in my garden for the whole week with hardly any sign of a thaw. In 2010 this area had 2-3 inches max.

    It was deffo colder in 2010 but this spell has been far better for snowfall IMO.

    Heavy snow on my journey fro Leicester to Hartshill. Roads completely covered again. I love driving in the snow! More to come by the looks of the radar

    -5 according to the guage in the car. Beautiful day with barely a cloud in the sky. My brother reported moderate snowfall in Hereford about 30 mins ago.

    I'd be amazed if its thawing Ian. Are you sure it's not dripping off poorly insulated houses?

    Must be over 20 cms on the grass, deeper in drifts, and a good 15mm on side roads. We've had no thaw today, very little sine Friday and still had a few cms left over from the first fall. Still coming down hard and the radar shows a long narrow band coming up from the south east that's bang on line for our area. Happy days!

    Looks to my relatively untrained eye that there's still more to come over the next few hours. There's a band of precipitation north west of London that's got our name on it.

    Well this has been awesome today. At least as much as on Friday with still more to come. I haven't seen any sign of a thaw either. Some of you guys have been very unlucky. I guess it's down to altitude. It's still barreling down now.

    No thaw here temp showing exactly 0. Still coming down strong and lots left to come by the looks of the radar. Unbridled joy!

    Coming down steadily now. Did anyone see the programme on the winter of '63 last night. Now that was proper snow. I'm a big snow lover but that would be way too much!

    Very very slight thaw here today but frozen solid again now. Eyes down for tomorrow evening. I've just got a funny feeling that it could be another good one, especially for those east of Brum I'd be v surprised if its raining. You sure it's not very fine ice crystals?

    Apologies. I've just been out to measure the depth and its just short of 8 inches. It's a man thing!

    I guarantee you it's at least a foot deep in the middle of my back lawn. Don't forget I'm right up near Hartshill Hayes. I'll post a photo tomorrow morning

    We've got well over 12 inches just down the road in Hartshill. I guess our elevation here makes all the difference.
