Morning All, a blue sky day, after so many cloudy days, and it has the feeling of going to be a warm one, so time to get out and finish laying the slabs on the patio.
Overnight low of 11.9°C at: 07:11 has already made it up to 24.5°C with RH68%, with a fair amount of sea mist preventing the view across to the Purbecks again today..
The satellite view is very different from the past week, showing a very clear sub M4 zone

Clearing here this morning, patches of decent blue sky now forming, however out over the channel its not possible to see Old Harry this morning
Whilst to the East large breaks appearing, the cloud this morning appeaars to be more from a S /SW direction as shown on the satellit image this morning
IF, the TAF is to be believed the Airshow may well be challenged..
Broken clouds at a height of 400 ft
Meanwhile here, the overnight low was 10.7°C at: 06:24, currently 17.7°C, with RH84% and a 3mph light wind in from the NE / E..

Well this sucks! Where's the sunshine for the airshow that was promised today?
It was a short day at the Airshow today anyway..
-
White cloud, with blue bits, here there and very far between, what is it with HIGH pressure systems that they just cant position themselves (be it winter OR summer) to provide something more than....cloud
Peak of 21.0°C at: 17:29
Even the AQI is moaning, and the spiky yellow on the graph is when the blue bits have just about appeared..
-
Morning All, some breaks in the Sc layer, but it seems to have filled in now, after single figures overnight of 9.1°C at: 04:57, currently 12.7°C, with a ENE breeze of 9mph and RH89%
THe beachcam has changed location during the airshow to prevent people hoping to catch a view of whats happening, but a pleasant view across to Old Harry
The satellite view does suggest some larger breaks, so possibly some sunny spells today at some point..

Morning All, so Autumn day 2, looking similar to day one, overcast, low differential temperatures, easterly breeze
BUT
The people have returned, early places for the Airshow this afternoon, chairs, tents and windbreakers at the ready, the cloud base is a little higher and is due to go up possibly another thousand feet
Few clouds at a height of 2600 ft
Broken clouds at a height of 3700 ftLooking at the satellite picture, it seems unlikely to break that much for a while..
-
Cloud base is lifting, things are getting brighter and even the occasional break can be seen
Few clouds at a height of 2600 ft
Scattered clouds at a height of 3100 ft
Broken clouds at a height of 4000 ftCurrently 17.4°C..
-
Morning All, so the first day of Autumn, let me check..
Low cloud - Yup
Levelled temperature - Yup
Easterly Breeze - Yup
Sounds like the last day (week) of summer to me!
Anyway, it's all action on the beach this morning..in preparation for the Air Show, beach has been levelled boarding and barriers are arriving..
Meanwhile the overnight low was 12.1°C at: 06:24, and this morning it is 12.4°C (54.4°F), Apparent temp 12.1°C RH 82%
There and we wont even notice the change of season

Currently 16°C and
Few clouds at a height of 1800 ft
Scattered clouds at a height of 2500 ft
Broken clouds at a height of 3300 ftSo between 1800ft and 3300ft there's a lot of cloud!

Morning All, one might say it's a tad bit glooomy, looking out over the channel this morning..
I think the person with the metal detector is being hopeful after the low numbers this weekend, but...
Anyway, overnight low back in double digits with 12.1°C at: 06:10 currently 16°C and RH77% with an easterly breeze around 8mph...
AND then... there were none, last day of Summer 2021 and NOT A SOUL on the beach..

The current sea temperature is 18.3 °C, I've seen it warmer, although that's above the 2000 average apparently!

Looks nice, very different to her with the cloud cover, BUT the maximum temperature picked up a tad and mad it ALL THE WAY to ........16.1°C
Got to think how often in AUGUST do we see these sorts of temperatures as PEAKS?
Ah well, the wonders of weather ...
Hoping we get some rain soon, to save my water bill going through the roof...
-
Well that does pretty c*@p down there for an August Bank Holiday, may a Hurricane would get more visitors (excuse me, I know they couse death)..anyway looking really sparse down on the beach..
BUT, the chippy is back..
Seemigly we appeared to sstruggle up to 18.8°C at: 14:45, but I think that's quite pleasant, you can do the gardening (slowly at the mo) and not break out in to a sweat.. NICE...
I only "Do" the beach in Autumn and winter, once it's free of the visitors (being polite)......

Cracking morning, clear sky, calm
Hmm, not here, overcast (as expected TBH), as the sat image confirms..
...don't think we will see many chinks in that today, not here anyway..
I think the Fish & chips guy has gone home in disgust, and the coucil wardens will have been given the day off as there's no illegally parked cars within a mile of the beach..looking at thisAmazing August Bank Holiday 15.5°C, people covered in theirs towels avoiding the chilling breeze...I bet it wont look like this next weekend (before the rain arrives!) This is less in numbers than you see any Christmas & Boxing Day...

Morning All, has everybody gone overseas for their "Fish & Chips", as the beach seems empty for a fine Bank holiday Saturday morning
Meanwhile overnight temperature way down in the single digit, with the low of
6.2°C at: 06:12, currently 15.0°C with RH79 % and a 10mph breeze in from the NE/ENE..
Certainly cloudy inland , but seems to be breaking along the coast, however the airflow direction may scupper this soon..
