  1. Oh Pat, do treat him gently, remember punishment is sitting on the front fender looking out for the smokies like Tyson And the idea of initiation of leaving him in a field close to a touchdown or being pounded by 1" hail should not be entertained (until at least day 6!)
  2. Not flying back until the 11th May, just need to collect a car from the car hire area on the 10th before they close. Oh goodie, that means more than one touch down this year then, yip yip yip
  3. Mornin' All, currently: Temp 5.0°C DP 4.3°C RH 95% Wind 3.5mph SSW 1014.1mb STEADY Conditions: Partly Cloudy
  4. On the lightning trigger there's a couple of units around. The one I use is from, it is expensive however: http://www.lightningtrigger.com/ Another is available and is cheaper, don't know how well it performs: http://www.pmgadgets.com/# I guess you pays your money and takes your choice. Very useful gadget in daylight storms.
  5. Mornin' All, currently: Temp -0.1°C DP -0.8°C RH 95% Wind Calm 1011.9mb RISING SLOWLY Conditions: frosty with bright sunshine
  6. I think Stu did well in the interview, given those present it could have been a riot. He's clearly not booked on to tour 1, and the departing BA flight that seems to be a mass take over by all accounts!
  7. Mornin' All, currently: Temp 8.3°C DP 7.5°C RH 85% Rainfall 0mm Wind 2.3mph ENE 996.4mb RISING SLOWLY Conditions: Suddenly gone very dark, whilst damp from overnight rain
  8. Plenty of clear snow falling here. Sorry, it's as good as it gets for the foreseeable future.
  9. So I figure the only thing we can discuss is the amount of rainfall. Down here we've seen 13.3mm in the last two days, and more on the way tomorrow, will we make the 25mm mark before the end of the week. Temps did take a recent drop now at 3.9°C. Somebody walked in today and said 2-5cms of snow tomorrow, and he then asked me why I was rolling around on the floor ROFL. I said you've been watching the Met Office forecasts Thereby begineth the first lesson, take yea little notice of Met Office weather warnings unless graineth of sand be holdeth. Thereby endeth the first lesson,
  10. Mornin' All, currently: Temp 5.3°C DP 4.6°C RH 95% Wind 1.1mph E Rainfall 5.1mm 992.6mb FALLING SLOWLY Conditions: Overcast and raining
  11. MetO have already shifted their position, as they had yellows out for Thursday night into Friday morning, around midday today. Now that has moved well into Friday AM, and given the warming push I would think North of Brum would be good for some early snowfall, down here, as you say there's a distinct lack of cold air, and given we are due rain for 90% of Thursday, the ground will be far too damp for anything to settle, whilst temps remain too high.
  12. Paul, as I said previously, we are up for the Desert Lightning but can't do this year, as last year didn't fulfill our appetite for tornado's we have to go back and do it all again, until we see more than 1! So if we get our fill this year, then we would skip tornado chasing next year (sob sob) and go for the Desert Lightning. It would be a good thing to place the options up when the booking for next years Tornado chasing goes online, that way people can see what's available through the year and plan. Given the two next year (tornado & lightning) we'd go for lightning.

  17. With Ian feeding them a glorious statement Forecaster Ian Michael Waite said: ‘We expect January to be colder than average – there’s no way we’re moving out of this mini ice age any time soon.’
  18. Mornin' All, currently: Temp 6.2°C DP 5.6°C RH 96% Wind 4.6mph ESE 1021.4mb STEADY Rainfall: 1.5mm Conditions: Overcast with mist patches
  19. Snow in the south, come on, Ive just arrived in Glasgow from Poole, and it was hissing down here with clear snow. Geez if these guys in the fridge can't get snow what chance do us Southerners stand
  20. Dear Santa My mummy said I had to write to you, and ask you nicely for my presents. I have been a good boy this year, I haven't kicked the cat (well not too much) and I have eaten brussel sprouts coz daddy said they are good for me. Next year I am going to America ('ray....) to chase tornado's so Santa can you please deliver at least one EF3 and maybe some baseball sized hail so I can say I've seen a real storm & tornado. PS Please can you tell Sean Casey, to say hello to my mum as she thinks he a dish, and is real upset that Reed has a girlfriend (glum) Thank you Santa Oh by the way tell the boys & girls on 2011 tours it's gonna be a good year, merry crimbles to you all and see you in TEXASS
  21. Mornin' All, currently: Temp -1.2°C DP -2.9°C RH 88% Wind Calm 1017.5mb STEADY Conditions: Overcast and dry
  22. Nudge, to bounce it back to the top for 30seconds.... Sorta hoping the "window" of change holds on until 29th, that way I'll manage a quick trip to Bonnie Scotland and back without the need of the emergency services
  23. Not deep but crisp again this morning as temperatures struggle to drop below the zero mark. Certainly not anywhere near the low temps found North of the UK. But then again no frozen pipes either so shan't complain
  24. Mornin' All, currently: Temp -0.9°C DP -1.9°C RH 93% Wind 3.5mph NNW 1008.3mb STEADY Conditions: Partly cloudy and dry.
  25. Warmer now than any other time today up to 0.9C, unlikely to keep much lying snow if it keeps on like that. BFTE - Beast from the East
