1. Well...... we have the rain and .........there hasn't been much at all 3mm is the total, not enough to get past the top crusty hard baked soil covering on the garden. Now aout 7" short year on year down here.
2. That baby is heading for Eastbourne, you'll be as out of luck as we are here in Poole
3. Mr S. I am surprised at you watching the Beeb website, with it's history of being out of wack Are you now wishing for something decent?? Come live down here, nowt happens down here, forgottent the last kaboom we had Mind you your in the right place if anything might happen, rather than down here. Fingers crossed for yah!
4. Whilst the weather had a mind of it's own and excelled for both trips 2 & 4, it kinda went soft for tour three a tad. The best I could manage can be viewed here: My slideshow
5. Been watching a bank of what looks like sea mist off the dorset coast all morning. It seems to wallowing around out in the channel and yet clearly visible from Bournemouth beach. Anybody else seen it, would be a good view from the ballon?
6. Like the idea on regional threads even during the summer, especially when it's a tad more active than present. I do enjoy a good read so the model thread alignment idea I like so I can drop in pick up the gist and then move on. Keep it up.
7. This sounds as though it has the makings of a great stormfest, unfortunately having three cocker spaniels I cant make it (well not cheaply kennel fee's...), unless I bring them and they become the original "HOT DOGS" Can I suggest you tie one end of a long piece of rope to a strong gatepost, and the other end to Pat, that way you may find him in the morning.
8. I'd previously made mention to the job the guys had done during our tour. Let's not forget it is a business that Paul and the guys are running here, and to that end a more devoted bunch of folks you'd struggle hard to find. Didn't see the other tour companies expounding and socialising quite like our teams. To those who dedicate their spare time is assisting and supporting the tours, your a credit. Never ending with knowledge, assistance and help of most kinds the team really do work at this to make it so worthwhile and totally enjoyable. Which is proven by how many folks book to go back, to that end time to go find a new piggy bank to save for next time and here's hoping I get to count beyond "1" tornado next year Now enjoy your break, you worked damn hard for it, all of you. PS I've even sent Tyson Darling a "THANK YOU" card for being so pleasant
9. Currently looking like the good stuff is going to go east of Southampton (as is often the case). Hoping to see some activity down here in Poole, but it does look more like a rain maker down here, than a storm generator.
10. Paul & the Team You did a great job, certainly on tour 3 finding that gem in Colorado, whilst the other states seemed somewhat devoid of the wee beasties. It certainly was a blast I sat and thought long and hard after this year, should we do it all again, the answer is yes, with such a great team, it's gonna be better second time around. Pat by next year any chance you can be the fastest guitar player in Gloucs. Paul, you'll need a year to recover from this one, in prep for what you've promised me is the big 4, don't disappoint me now.
11. Well done Paul, a June twister AND in Iowa. Didn't you do well
12. Paul You pays your dues and you get's your just deserves, now cough up and Nebraska might get kind to you
13. Easing tour three in gently then by the look of that.
14. Found this whilst cruising through the threads on stormtrack.org "A chasing tour got a direct hit today. Apparently this is because of a crazy chaser convergence with some chasers blocking the road. People got injured because of this" Has to a major concern with what is now becoming extremely popular weather watching event...
15. Any updates?? Assuming British Airways doesn't screw with my flight too badly I hope to be in town on the 19th.
16. Come on now don't use it all up before tour three begins, save some for us.
17. I'll have some of that too, please....
18. Yep, it's a good lens I've got one also. Dave, of course, there is another option, given the wide angle cost, but it's usefulness for storm chasing, you can hire one, and that is a lot lot cheaper. Type in Camera lens hire in Google and check the options, it's quick, & less expensive than buying and you'll be so amazed with the lens you'll buy one for next time.
19. Dave, don't forget the more obvious things, like: Spare battery(ies) Spare memory cards if they are different to your other camera.
20. Looking at the gulf temperatures some are 2-3degrees below the average, so looks like some warming required there.Looking at the various data graphs, this year seems to be of an extremely slow start storm wise even compared to last year.
21. Did I miss the info pack, not seen anything in my mailbox?
22. Pat I think I'm going to be tapping you up for some assistance as having just bought all my gear new it's never yet seen a lightning bolt, hope your prepared to play teacher
