Just got back from Grindleford where there was nothing but a tiny bit of slush currently we have heavy snow here in Dronfield and its starting to stick which is very much a suprise

If anyone is travelling through the higher routes of derbyshire be very careful there's snow on the roads and conditions are pretty bad in the showers.

I am not sure to be honest but we could see some snow later tonight into tommorrow if the MetO is to be believed.

Might have a drive upto Fox House and stand at the top of the Hill and let the full force of the wind hold me up you most probably think i am bonkers the wind last time must have been upwards of 60mph! easily. I take it you missed all the fun then Mark we had really intense rainfall with very squally winds with Sleet mixed in for good measure aswell.

If it's anything like we experienced here you are in for an absolute treat

Sheffield has to be up there with the snowiest citys, as for towns Buxton would be most definately near the top if not the top for Snow it seems to have it's own little micro climate Buxton has already had 10cm of lying snow already that lasted from sunday night until last night.

That is correct i live in Dronfield between Sheffield and Chesterfield and i would describe that squall like something you would see on raging planet it was unreal i opened the door to be met with incredible winds blowing water all over the place the rain was blowing at all angles and trees looked very unsteady in such strong winds i wish i would have got the whole squall on camera i only managed to get the back end of it! there sleet mixed in aswell the tempreture has dropped like a stone and the air feels decidely chilly now.

I am in Dronfield 6 miles south of the city centre and i was just about to go out the door i opened it to what can only be described as looking like something you would see on a raging planet program! the rain was really intense and even turned to sleet at one point with snow flakes mixed in the air has now turned alot colder.

According to Buxton weather Site they actually recorded 10cm of level snow which is pretty good going really.

That new warning system is awful with the lines running down the sides of the maps not very helpful at all IMO.

Had some beefy Hail Showers here in Dronfield North East Derbyshire today with sleet/snow thrown in for good measure aswell 4 days now with at least wintry precipitation! which is good considering it wasn't long back people were writing this winter off already.

Hello again Mark plenty of sleet hail and snow showers today i was at the the cat and fiddle yesterday and enjoyed a blizzard up there and i have been up fox house where there is a really decent covering when i was up there earlier there was blizzard conditions again the roads were covered in snow the higher parts look like they have taken a hammering down here in Dronfield there's still some slush IMBY but nothing to write home about.

Snowing moderately here in Dronfield North East Derbyshire on border with Sheffield my car has a slushy covering the paths and roofs are turning white aswell

There is a covering of snow just outside buxton and on the way up to the cat & fiddle inn where there was snow on the road earlier i suspect there has been further dustings since i left the cat and fiddle about half 5ish there is also snow at the top of winnats pass.

It was sleeting a min ago turning to snow in Dronfield North East Derbyshire just got back from Buxton and the cat and fiddle where there was a covering of wet/slushy snow.

I suspect there may have been a few flakes of snow over the very top of Kinder scout.
