  1. Just see that, im in the yellow. Hopfully it will shift a little further north in to South Yorkshire :(

that's the trouble im on the extreme edge of that warning in Killamarsh :( plus the fact it's low down here aswell which doesn't help! i came back from Dronfield last night there was 3 times as much snow as there was in Killamarsh that just goes to show the difference a few meters can make.

  2. I know it's more than 50 miles but Leicester has LOADS, 5 inches. Derbyshire has probably got it quite bad aswell though.

After moaning earlier that we had missed out it's been snowing for the past & half hours there is a deep covering and it's still coming down thick and fast i dread to think what it's like up at owler bar fox house way i think the roads will be cut off up there due to blowing snow as it is quite windy up there especially near the moorlands pub where my dads and many other cars had to be dug out by edale mountain rescue team.

  3. Snow showers look like they are hitting Notts on radar, but there aren't any since about 10-10.30am. Radar is lying again lol!! Now I see clear patches in the sky  I'm sure the clouds are splitting in 2 and going around Nottingham... Had 2 really good heavy snow showers though this morning. Hope it doesn't go to rain either, I'll have a coniption fit!

The Exact same thing keeps happening here wtf is going on grrr <_<

  4. well it definately Snowedin Sheffield because when i went to visit my Nan in Abbeydale there was a Car there with about 1 inch of snow on it i couldn't believe my eyes,I thought no it couldn't possibly be but then i got a phone call from my partner telling me that it was snowing at Crystal Peaks in Sheffield.

  5. seems like its buxton in derbyshire, even in the dreadful even larger teapot era they are guaranteed significant snow off a cold spell, they had loads on 18th nov 07

Buxton Probably is the Coldest Town in Britain every time i have been there even in summer it's always been freezing brrrrrr it always does well for snow aswell Probably the Best place in Central England for Snow and Probably the best to see snow that lasts longer than 1 day.

  6. Small storm moved over us northwards at around 9pm. Heavy rain and good fork lightning and loud thunder. The small storm has now merged with others in west yorks to give them a much better show. Its not fare.

Well stu we had a big storm here in killamarsh it started with thunder and lightning then came the torrential rain which flooded most of my back garden i was worried that my house would flood it was getting that bad i can only imagine how bad it was on the bottom of killamarsh.

  7. A smallish storm here in sheffield about 20 mins ago produced quite a few bolts of forked ligtning and loud rumbles of thunder.

Another storm just kicking off with thunder and lightning.

typical lasts all off two seconds here and its bone dry yet over towards north sheffield its pitch black with forked lightning everywhere.

  8. Like TM said weak storm although the rain here was a bit heavier just missing out on an inch according to the davis.

So in two days we've had four inches of rain give and take a bit. Off flood shooting tomorrow.

Take a look at the Storm drain at Bowshaw i went and had a look today it's getting close to overflowing if we get anymore serious amounts of rainfall Dronfield bottom could be in a spot of bother.

  9. Thundery heavy rain just abaiting a little now. Lasted around 2 hours with numerous close lightning flashes and long, loud rumbles of thunder. currently 53mm of rain today, 19mm in last 2 hours.

Massive problems in Sheffield this morning due to 105mm in just 2 days falling and running down the many hills surrounding the city. Many manhole covers off this morning, leaves and branches down and roads looking like rivers.

The weather has been the same in Dronfield and the storm drain at bowshaw is like a resevoir now and is in danger of overflowing if this rain keeps up i have been and had a look this evening and if we see anymore big storms Dronfield bottom could be in danger of flooding.
