Seems like the latest NAE chart for 12 noon now has a area of snow in front of the main band.
I think tomorrow could be another interesting day weather wise.
If so I'll need to escape back to the city earlier! I can't be stuck out here in the countryside! Best move everything an hour back tomorrow now lol!
-
Most certainly!!it looks like the midlands is going to be getting some of the heavier stuff!!i have just looked at the gfs and its looking seriously tasty from tomorrow afternoon onwards!!and the nae has got a finger of heavy precipitation tomorrow morning through the east midlands!!was that there before??last minute upgrade maybe!!
Well i definitely hope so! If this does come off it'd be the most snow I would have ever seen in Leicester!
-
we looking at the potential for another 5-10cm tomorrow then?
It's definitely looking that way! Earlier we were looking at 2-5 max but now it's practically doubled!
-
GFS showing a definite increase of intensity for tomorrow! pretty excited now!
-
Must be just me that seems to think the NAE 18z has doubled the amounts over the next 48hours for parts of the east mids based on how quiet it is here
Got a chart to show this? if they're even called charts haha!

GFS looks great for tomorrow !

BBC 24 have just ran maps out until Tuesday. After tomorrow evenings event (2-5 centimeters, although we'll be lucky to get 5 it looks pretty light stuff) fronts passes through the extreme south and to the north east (Newcastle northwards) giving snow.In the middle we seem to get stuck in the cold/dry air stream.
In other words, no snow Monday or Tuesday at least for the Midlands
I'm just going to wait and see what happens I don't like the bbc's maps, yesterday they told us there will be 2-5cm when we actually got 10cm!
-
Should bring some light snow across most areas, maybe it'll be more substantial? Some seems to think it's just the remnants of today's front, but it should bring something.
Thanks

Trough coming through tomorrow on latest fax :-)
Would this affect most of the midlands tomorrow?

Is leicester expecting any snow showers over tomorrow? or are we too far inland?

Which part did you just walk down? I was just walking along there with my Girlfriend 10 mins ago, walked from the Leisure Centre to the Caravan centre then crossed the railway line, we might have passed you lol.
Past BP garage must have missed you by about 200 metres haha!

Traffic is mayhem in Leicester!!!!!
I've moved 0.2 miles in 30 mins. Unbelievable.
(London Road - Stoneygate)
Just walked down hinckley road! absolute standstill!

Much heavier here than earlier, just gonna ignore the radar now and go for a walk in it

Great summary for Leicesters weather from the GFS, sunday looks better than today!
-
I thought this wasn't due for over an hour! Settling on the roads now!
-
Precip on meto radar looking about's where it should be at 3am already so hopefully it will be further east than previously thought.
-
Snowing since around 4! 3-4cm of cm added! I was completely taken by surprise, if we do manage 15cm tomorrow (with hope) we could have the most snow i've probably ever seen!
-
Lightly snowing here

Any chance of showers off the east coast today?

I'm moving down to Abingdon at the start of February
Was thinking of moving down there with my Uncle last year but didn't. I definitely am at the start of February though, leaving my job in Leicester to look for similiar work with better pay down in Abingdon. I moan about the Leicester snow shield but as we speak it's snowing moderately now and a dusting is starting to form! I'll miss this when I move down to snowlessdon.
You still near Western park mate? I'm staying at my Girlfriend's at the moment, she lives on Park rise.
Yeah!

Settling on road and pavement now!

I think the met office forecasts sum it up for my area tommorow...
6am = light snow
9am = sleet
Midday = heavy snow
3pm = light rain.
So basically anything can happen. Gonna be a case of despite what the models show or BBC forecasts, no-one will really know until its on the doorstep.
Look at Leicester not even far from Hinckley and we're looking like snow for pretty much all of it. So surely it's going to be like you say see what happens when it actually comes.
