Hi, It sounds like dispite your woes you haven't lost your sense of humour. I laughed hard and mightily reading your blog, thanks for cheering ME up. All the best AH

  5. Azores Hi

    Humdrum

If I was to say that life at the moment is humdrum you would all know what I mean. But what exactly is a humdrum? Is it a humming drum? Or the act of drumming really fast and quietly so that it makes a humming noise. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....? *cat update* *cat update* My cat went to the vet to get a microchip inserted inside him (not a revolutionary device for controling cats but and I.D device). Imagine my delight to find that he already had one (50 quid saved). Yippie I asked the kind man how I could go about changing the details encripted onto said device only to be told that he was registered as missing and that he would need to keep my cat until the previous owner could be contacted. Turns out that the cats protection league didn't check for a microchip when they found him. S o when I rescued the cat from them I was blissfully unaware that the previous owners were still missing him. This was a year ago!!! Thankfully the previous owners didn't want him back as they had new cat/dog/child. If they had I would legally have to return the cat to them. Beware all those getting cats from resue centres. On a lighter note. Imagine if you could control cats with a microchip.....Tiger army anyone?
  6. Today. I will be mostly eating, strawberry cheesecake.
  7. I was trying to think what my favorite time of year is and came to the conclusion that I love it all. Winter snow, spring showers, summer storms and autumn Gales. Every time of year hold something special for me to look forward to. Even September (which has been renamed Sh*tember in my house hold for many years) managed to produce a few storms this year. Looking out my window today I can see the wind increasing to expected gales this afternoon and can't help being excited by the prospect of the dramas yet to unfold! But there is something else in the air, despite the frosts of last week I am getting the first sense of the approaching winter today. The washed out appearance of the sky between the increasing bareness of the trees and the colours of the countryside slowly fading to dull greens and browns. All of the signs are there that winter is just over the horizon. Does anyone else get a small sense of dread this autumn when they look up to the sky or is it just me? I look up at the apporaching storm today with a touch of fear which is unusual for me and I can't quite put my finger on it.....
  8. Or maybe Princess Diana dressed as a polar bear with an iceberg that resembles Michael Barrymore
  9. Thank you so much for printing the article here, you have saved me the bother of buying this tripe. I look forward to contradicting all those people that will now say that they have 'heard ' that it's going to be a hard winter. I want a snowy winter just as much as anyone but I can do without the sensational claptrap. Tell me..did they print the picture of the super-imposed iceberg/polarbear on the Thames??? I'd be dissapointed if they didn't!
  10. Well I thought I would start with something random hence my first entry regarding my cat. This may make you feel that I may be not all there. Please be assured that most of the time I am a fairly rational person with no major personality problems (apart from the occasional murder). No... seriously it's been years since the last one... I'm not really inspiring your confidence am I? I can't promise that I won't post the odd random memory of former pets and people I've known but I can promise that they should at least amuse some of you out there, even just a little bit. As for Charlie the one eyed cat, sadly we lost him to the curse of the main road alittle over a year ago. He was particularly special. His lack of eye, he made up for with a huge personality. We have a new cat now, his name is Sonny. Although he has his full compliment of eyes the same cannot be said about his braincells. Last night, he fell over his own tongue. Need I say more?
  11. Just thought I would tell you all about my optically challeged cat Charlie. He had a curious way of running. Keeping his one good eye in the center of his aim, his body used to follow behind his head at a jaunty angle.
