Beautiful day here, just about 20. We are having the first BBQ of the year.
-
I was not expecting this much wind either.
And it's bin day, plastics. There is a lot of rubbish in the middle of the road now! -
Such a strange day! So warm I walked to the shops in a sleeveless top.
And there's that slightly off white balance, I believe we have the Sahara dust in the atmosphere thing at the moment. -
17 degrees here! This is lovely.

Absolutely nothing to do with the weather right now, but I just came across this and thought some might enjoy this. My kind of forecast.
I genuinely remember this forecast, I was 17 at the time, probably not long back from the pub when it aired.

A sudden hail storm had me rushing out to get the washing in, and my cat running indoors looking bedraggled.
I was keeping an eye on the radar in case I needed to get the washing in, it just bubbled up out of nowhere. -
Neilsouth We do now have the rain. Lots to come tonight by the looks of things.

Both yesterday and today, I've felt warm enough to walk to the shops without a coat or jacket. I don't recall having done this so early in the year before.
-
One of those moments where it's raining a bit, but absolutely nothing even close showing up on the radar.

The radar has the wheel and spokes effect centered to the NW of London. I've seen it a lot before, I can't remember what causes it
I notice this often too, I don't know for sure, but I've always assumed this is a radar thing, not the weather.
Interference where different Doppler radars overlap.- 1

-4.7c here this morning, but where is the frost? Can't see much.
I think it's too dry for much frost.

Thank you!
I've decided to watch one of my favourite things on YouTube related to snow.

BBC weather just said 20 to 30cms in parts of Belgium and Germany grrr that could have been us. The system has been given a name by the French as well, Irene apparently...
Well obviously I now am singing Come on Irene too-ra-loo-ra.. but it's my birthday and I've had wine, whilst wishing for snow.
Knee deep in snow I am told when I was born in 1979.- 8

and a nuisance...seems like of recent years when snow chances do pop up they're either marginal (as per Jan 2021) or on such a small scale only part of a county or coastal areas are effected. Roll on for a massive memory making dumping! If I'm still alive
It's my birthday on the 16th, not had birthday snow in a while. I am trying not to get my hopes up too much!

On January 7th 2010, overnight temperatures had plunged to -18 degrees Celsius (-0.4 degrees Fahrenheit) in isolated spots, with more widespread temperatures of -10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit).
Snow covered most of England, from the east to the west coast. (The large image shows snow cover over the entire island of Great Britain.)
The cities of Manchester, Birmingham, and London form ghostly gray shapes against the white land surface. Immediately east of London, clouds swirl over the island, casting blue-gray shadows toward the north.
The heavy snowfall downed power lines, leaving several thousand homes in southern England without electricity.
I've just looked back and found a picture I took on the 9th of January 2010, overlooking South Woodham Ferrers.

I had an interesting walk back from Asda, I thought I had time to get there and back before the serious gusts arrived. I had to walk backwards, just could not breathe in the wind. Bins everywhere.
My little cat is quite young, it's his first winter being allowed outside, is very confused by the wind and has gone a bit hyper.

Oh so mild. Heating off and my window open!

I've been treated to 22 degrees two days in a row. Monday is going to be a bit of disappointment after this.
