I've noticed this past week or so, especially today, I've been getting external condensation on the windows. As have the neighbours. I don't remember this usually happening!

Cold night got down to 5c by 1am, but then started to rise after that, shame as it could've got close to freezing. Lovely sparkling sunny morning though!
Down to 3 degrees here which was a surprise. A proper chilly morning.

I'm having to go outside to warm up! Cold in my house, lovely in the sunshine.

Like you I'm hoping for a proper soaker! And the first proper gales of the season too.
Me too! I've bought a nice bottle of red to enjoy with the weather I hope we get this evening. Cosy.

Feels like autumn is definitely here now, waking up to fog on the last day of September.

In South Woodham we can hear distant rumbles and the rain has just started.
-
I was watching the lightning from my bed about 5am, when the cat decided I should get up. No proper rain here, it's all just to the west of me. So frustrating!
But this moody sky is enjoyable.

Raining in Aldeburgh, nothing on the radar. Is it broken?
I had this too in South Woodham! I was half asleep and thought I heard rain, checked the radar and there was nothing near so didn't get out of bed to look. Just assumed it was the willow tree... nope it had actually rained!
It's lovely but now getting rather humid. -
Not a drop here in South Woodham yet. Frustratingly everything seems to develop just west of the town and then move away. Just on the edge.

Yes must be cheesing, the storm literally popped out of nowhere - 1 minute sunny and then pooring down with thunder. Front lawn has some puddles on it!!...without rubbing it in too much Is it dry at SWF?
As a bone. But it's looking grey and the radar is showing light rain over us, I don't think it's reaching the ground.
Edit to add... literally just started to very slightly rain! I can hear it on the conservatory roof.

I am so close, just a few miles down the River Crouch and I'd have rain. I can hear a bit of rumbling.
Nice to see something on the radar again. -
I had a first yesterday that I fear will be normal in the future.
I photographed a lovely wedding in a garden/field in Suffolk, they had a fire safety talk. Never in my 12 years of wedding photography has this been a thing.
I really hope I get booked for spring and autumn more than summer now! Heatwave weddings are very uncomfortable for all involved.
Didn't see one single green field on my drive there from Essex.- 8

Now down to 29 but I somehow feel more uncomfortable. It's muggier now.

Metcheck look like they've folded and no more (the online shop)...they use to sell British Standard (BS) Min/Max thermometers & Stevenson Screens...Russell Scientific you could give a go.
Thank you! I really must get around to it!
Just seen this -- 1

Sounds a bit excessive...I've got a Stevenson screen with my min/max thermometers housed so I should think fairly accurate here but as you're 8 or 9 miles further inland a degree or two hotter I would have thought!
There are a couple of stations here that I find questionable. There is one I trust after years of keeping an eye on it and that went up to 38 today.
I really want to get my own, but I can never make up my mind which one to get.

Got away 'with it' nearer the coast here...max of 32c yesterday and today just over 33c, feel sorry for those folks further inland, how are those T-Storms looking? or is that wishful thinking.
One of the weather stations in SWF reported 40.3 today (not the most reliable one mind you).
But most here peaked at 38. -

Presently 30.5c here near to the Essex coast...'real' hot day I think will come tomorrow where anything maybe possible, like a sauna in the sun. Dreading this evening when the house seems to build heat by that time...
Me too, I'm ok now because my bedroom/office is north west facing. Windows closed, blinds closed, nice and cool... but once the sun moves into view this evening will be horrible.

35 here in South Woodham.
I just washed my hair (I have a lot of long hair) and walked to the Co-op, not even 2 minutes away. By the time I got home my hair was bone dry!

They've decided to close the secondary school here at midday on Monday and Tuesday.
Never in my life have I experienced a school closing because it's too hot before.- 1

Met office issued an amber warning do heat for all day Sunday, have we ever had a warning like that?
Hate heat, extreme heat is going to be a nightmare, 8 hr shift in care home, with no air con and no air, is going to be horrific.I was wondering the same thing. I cannot recall ever seeing a warning like this before.
I hope it's doesn't turn out to be that hot. -
That was quite a show for me!
I was photographing a wedding in Bradwell-on-Sea today, a lovely venue with views of the river.
Usually I stay really late, but I was only booked until 10pm.
Saw my first lightning in the distance as I got in my car, then drove home to South Woodham towards the storm. Lovely views of approaching flashes.
As soon I got home the rain began.
I've not heard thunder this loud in years.- 1

So hot here it's eerily quiet.
Nobody in the streets, barely any traffic. It's very odd.
32 here in South Woodham.- 1

I just heard my first rumble and it's now raining here in South Woodham.

Wish the cold wind would do one. It's ruining what are otherwise pleasant days. I don't know if it's just my memory but I swear the last few April's have been warmer than this. I'm getting married late April next year and hope it's a lovely warm day!
I'm a wedding photographer and I have recently thought I remember my April weddings being much warmer than this usually! Guests not needing jackets at all!
Hopefully you will get a pleasant and warm day for your wedding.

Bin day today and I woke to my very full bin on it's side and my rubbish up the street!
I am loving this cosy proper November weather today.
