im another one who backs a more normal summer aswell. i think it will be average at best imo and alot of people may end up being somewhat fooled with this weather we are having at the moment and are probably expecting a scorcher of a summer.

i didnt even get a dusting. as far as im concerned we didnt get a winter only a prolonged autumn which im sure many would agree. i gave the "winter" a very generous 2/10 because at least we had some big storms which provided some interest

i think it will be cold for easter with some heavy snow showers about and also some hard frosts,the last hard frosts of the season not that weve had many

i got a few snow showers on sunday and monday morning and some sharp frosts.for me the cold snap was noting special,pretty much what i expected from a cold snap in march. but i wouldnt say no to another one if it came.

I doubt whether March will be cold, it rarely is after a mild February. It is a well known fact of the British Climate that mild Febs are nearly always followed by mild Marches, just like it is becoming a well known fact of the British Climate that winter is rarely cold after a warm September.
Another fact to the above is, that it does not always work the other way round (Cold Febs often followed by cold Marches), as the cold Febs of 1981, 1991 and 1994 all led to mild Marches. The warm September theory is true that it is rarely followed by a cold winter, whereas again that theory does not always work the other way round, as the cool Septembers of 1974 and 1994 were still followed by mild winters. Sometimes theories work one way but not always the other.
i think that is a very good point you have made. another thing i heard was warm octobers are followed by cold winters.that certainly wasnt the case this yr, the winter was still mild

i think march will be mild overall with some good dry spells. some short cooler intervals. i think at the end of the month it might even feel quite warm never mind mild. im going for 7.9c

i hope your right. hopefully the nao might be negative going into early spring aswell. after the winter weve had so far i find it depressing to think that spring is only a few weeks away now. But if the nao was negative in march that would be good and delay spring so to speak

mostly mild i think. probably one or two shortlived cold snaps. im going for 5.6

i would go for 10.3. i think this year will be colder overall then last year. i think the 2nd half of 2007 will be somewhat cooler then the 2nd half of 2006, and i think we could well have a coolish summer. i do think that the first half of 2007 could be rather warm however but a cooler 2nd half to 2007 will balance things out somewhat. well thats my best guess anyway
