. Glad to have a dry week here. Our garden is a mudbath and extremely saturated. 18z ensembles still keeping the cooler trend with more members going even colder in F.I. Mean still around average but still positive signs heading into the latter part of the month. Also worth noting that the pub run is on the warm side throughout the run.

7.7c here. Been cloudy with drizzle this afternoon skies have now cleared leaving a lovely evening for fireworks.

If we are still getting Southerlys by 240hr il be very surprised. I think a pattern change is inevitable and by this time next week we will know exactly what will happen. Not sure exactly how accurate the ensembles are but for a few days now I've been watching them and a cooler trend towards the end of month is looking more likely. For Aberdeen the ensemble mean drops to near -5 hpa and for here around 0 hpa. This would suggest a northerly wind is most likely. Definatley going to be watching the charts closely over the next week.

Fantastic storm. Chased it from malton to Scarborough and watched it head north from olivers mount. Very unexpected and certainly the latest in a year I've ever seen a thunderstorm. Constant flashes and some close cg's when driving through the Yorkshire wolds. Great stuff!

Cold again this morning with a minimum of 4.4C clouded over around 7am but it's now sunny again and feeling pleasant with rising temperatures at 11.4C. A fine weekend so far.

Top temp of 13.9 today. Rather blustery. Currently 12.8 and feeling more like autumn. 12 degrees colder today than yesterday. So although today's temperature was about average for the time of year its has come as a shock to most.

23.3C here today. Bit gusty tho with an average wind speed of 21mph. Looking forward to colder days and nights. Feels strange when its so warm yet everywhere looks so autumnal.

Ecm maybe the first model to clock on to this cooler spell in October. Will feel very autumnal if that run verifys. May change but could be the start of trend, defiantly one to keep an eye on. All eyes on the 18z.

Max temp here was 13.8C which is extremely low for August. Did anyone else experience a similar temperature or maybe lower? Looking back at my location archive for temperatures the lowest since 1998 was 15.2C so it seems quite rare.

3 days of storms in just under a week for me, had to travel 20 miles east today as York just missed out, but the joys of having a car and NW radar on my iphone. Saw some great CG and extremely loud thunder. Torrential rain had turned most roads into rivers. Big bonus as i didn't expect anything today

Localized flooding in and around York, not seen too much in the way of lightning but have had thunder on and off since half 7 this morning. Not sure if this has been posted but there was a Tornado in York apparently on Wednesday. That thunderstorm was simply amazing, constant lightning, very close CG'S, flash flooding, intense rainfall with hail that i thort was gonna smash my windscreen. WOW!!!!!

The showers coming off the North Sea seem to be intensifying as they hit the Yorkshire Wolds and North York Moors, the complete opposite of showers in winter which seem to die out as they head inland, any experts around to explain why?

After a long nights storm chase finally found some thunder and lightning, drove between York and Beverley, saw around 10-15 flashes with torrential rain at times. Brilliant

Anything for North Yorkshire today?, we seem to be in no mans land looking at the forecast, my only hope is gfs but if it fails as bad as yesterday we have no chance.
