I'm in Glastonbury and can't remember the last time i saw a flake

Why is it whenever i look at the charts this time of year there's a bloody high pressure system just to the east of us pumping arctic air -10 uppers into europe and we miss it :/
Then i wonder why i visited the model thread in the first place.
Too many times has it got down to the wire and one of Nicks shortwaves scuppers it.

Hubby just said very light snow falling here in wells. NW radar says rain? Wierd.
nothing in glastonbury but apparently a few flakes earlier. my weather station now up to 3.4 degrees

2.9 degrees in glastonbury and rain. don't have a lampost so will be shining a torch out the window just in case

fingers crossed for something i'm getting bored with "just another week" which seems to be the way. Its always just another week it seems.

Was faced with the dread "Road Closed" sign on my way home last night. Managed to find another route home fortunately although some drivers have a lot to learn when it comes to driving in flooded conditions...
Good news was despite the road closed signs still being there this morning i managed to get through with only a few large puddles. The river brue has lowered enough to stop it from spilling over.
Not looking good for the weekend though....

Only recorded 10mm so far but the brue between meare and glastonbury has burst its banks and the road is barely passable
Just about made it home for lunch but might need to find an alternate route home tonight !

Just hoping the rivers have a chance to go down a bit. The road between Meare and Glastonbury was like white water rafting this morning !

Sleety wet snow here in Weston now, little patches of snow on the ground in this part of the town, nothing more, much more up on the mendips where I just went for a spin, literally on some of the side roads that have snow on them ;-)
i went up through wells to priddy and down to cheddar and then got stuck and how to turn around due to my abs brakes !

Still snowing in the Glastonbury
Took a trip up the mendips and the roads are covered in places and very difficult to navigate in my car !
Snows moderate but sticking well.

Was thinking of taking a drive up the mendips in the hope of seeing something.Crazy its gone from -7 to +1 and not a flake

just started raining here in reading and gone dark but no signs of any electrical activity
also feels like its cooling down quite quickly.
i think those lucky londoners will see the best of this now.

i'll have no nails left at this rate
been waiting and watching storm after storm being deflected by the great reading storm shield.
there does seem to be a slight northward track but i'm not convinced it will be enough to give me a light show.
those greedy londoners will probably get it all again.

are those cells over the channel heading towards the south east or will they track more northerly towards south central england ?

That Ex Wilsthire Storm is taking a direct Hit for London if it keeps its current track and Intensity.
Should be here between 4-430pm

I think its bang over me now although its gone as dark as night outside nothing electrical has yet to come from it.

my storm shield is also working well but some amazing clouds flying past at terrific speeds with the highest gust so far 28Kts !

i reckon about 5 hours....
hopefully there will be enough latent heat to give them a boost after their chilly channel crossing.
its horribly muggy here still 22.4c 57% humidity so i'm crossing everything.

winds coming from the east here which is just what i need to push them towards me if they make landfall and if theres anything left
