  2. I think this poor 2007 is going to be remembered as having the most incredibly early and preemptive ramping season!
  3. Suprised at that as I am only 4 miles S/SW of the Herstmonceux Observatory and my home station only gave 9mm for that period. The nearest formal stations CW2766 (CWOP, 1.5 miles W) and Eastbourne Live, 1.5 miles S of me, gave 10.9mm and 6.8mm respectively. Just proves that it was substantialy less wet nearer to the Sussex Coast I suppose. Thanks for all the info and updates on this 'event' John, its like having sub-titles when the sound is turned off! PS, if you triangulate those figures and find my house, your welcome for a cup of tea just for the effort!!
  4. 18.2 DgC Wind 18.4 MPH gusting 27.2 MPH max SW / W (biggest gusts last 24 hours 38 MPH) 996.0 mb rising 0.4 mb/hr Humidity 84% DP 15.4 DgC 5.1 mm rain last 24 hours Cloud base 1132 ft Muggy, windy day, dosen't feel like August at all.
  5. Not much better on Littlehampton Seafront:
  6. Thanks John, that will teach me to look in the earlier pages of a thread!!!
  7. How would you see that low tracking John? Is it going to come straight west to east or it will it come around and up the channel / French coast?
  8. The first phase is starting to creep up the Channel towards us now. Heavy rain in Mid Sussex (work) and moderate winds (can't give you specific data) with winds gusting to 35 MPH now, back home near to the coast. Suspect it will get a bit rougher later today into tomorrow but I don't think it will hit 50 MPH.
  9. 17.9 DgC 1001.9 mb and falling 0.8 mb/hr Wind 20.9 MPH gusitng 28.3 MPH max S / SE (has peaked at 35MPH in the last 12 hours) DP 13.2 DgC Humidity 72% Rain 2.2mm last hour (currently falling at 0.194mm/min) Cloud base 1938 ft Sorry late this morning!

  11. 15.3 DgC Wind 2.6 MPH gusting 6.3 MPH max N/NE 1017.3 mb rising 0.2 mb/hr Humidity 69% DP 9.7 DgC Cloud base 2331 ft No rain for 11 days Another cracking weekend expected - GET IN THERE!
  12. 15.9 DgC 1018.8 mb falling 0.1 mb/hr Wind 2.9 MPH gusting 9.2 MPH max NE / E Humidity 68% DP 9.8 DgC Cloud base 2526 ft 10 days and no rain in Eastbourne Another sunny day, at this rate I will start to forget about how poor this Summer has been and look back at it as being just average. How the memory fools you!
  13. Sorry, a bit late this morning! 18.6 Dgc 1017.1 mb rising 0.1 mb/hr Wind 7.7 MPH gusting 11.6 PH max N / NE Humidity 51% DP 8.3 DgC Cloud base 4270 ft Another 24 hours of no rain despite ominous black clouds over Mid/West Sussex first thing this morning. Local radio station had a warning out for Sussex but I didn't encounter anything traveling East to West and the sky is now clear except for a few small clouds.
  14. Yesterday - 27 DgC at home but 29 DgC in the car (normally consistant) about 7 miles inland
  15. 18.1 DgC Wind 13.5 MPH gusting 14.5 MPH max NW 1006.5 Mb falling 0.1 mb/hr DP 14.4 DgC Humidity 79% Cloud base 1523 ft Rain showers in Lewes this morning in a typical Summer 2007 grey day - bring back the weekend sun please!
  16. My location (near the Coast!?) meant we only saw 27 DgC today with 29 Dgc at the peak in the country about 7 miles inland. But I'm not arguing as it has been glorious, can we just have a bit more please?
  17. 19.9 DgC Wind 0.2 MPH gusting 3.9 MPH max N 1020mb rising 0.7 mb/hr Humidity 68% DP 12.2 DgC Don't blink, Summer 2007 is coming to a county near you this weekend!
  18. 15.6 DgC Wind 2.1 MPH gusting 7.5 MPH W / NW 1009.2 mb rising 0.3 mb/hr 0.0mm rain last 24 hours Humidity 73% DP 10.8 DgC Cloud base 1989 ft Started out really gloomy (lights on going to work in August!?) but now the sun is trying its hardest to break through
  19. 18.2 DgC 1014mb steady Wind 0.0 MPH gusting 2.2 MPH max SE Humidity 78% DP 14.5 DgC 0.0mm rain last 24 hours Another beautiful clear blue sky with the sun beaming down. Fantastic display of contrails this morning over Eastbourne (a main skyway into Gatwick/Heathrow) with about 30 or so looking like a scene from the Battle of Britian - must be cold and damp up there. Its probably all the tourists escaping the British weather!
  20. 24.0°C on April 15th 2007 - not Summer I know, but the closest we have had to it! The highest last year was 27.5°C in July 2006 and the max recorded since 1950, was 32.6°C in July 1990.
  21. Sorry to revisist this one but I have only just seen the figures for Eastbourne for June. It does confirm that June 2007 was duller than the previous June (2006) at only 198.8 hours of sunshine with a mean temp of 16.3 DgC and 58.2mm of rain in 12 rain days. That compares to 270 hours of sunshine in June 2006, 27.3mm of rain on 10 rain days (June 2005 was similar). Pretty much what we have seen across the UK and certainly at odds with the usual for Eastbourne - 'The Sunshine Coast' ! To answer the main question though, June 2007 was not duller than January 2007 here.
  22. Temp 13.9 DgC Wind 0.0 MPH Gusts to 8.0 MPH Humidity 66% Dewpoint 13.3 DgC Pressure 1014.0 mb steady Another blue sky day, (is Summer 2007 close?)
  23. 15.7DgC 1019.1mb steady Wind 7.1 MPH, gusting 12.8 MPH max N Humidity 63% DP 8.6DgC 0.00mm rain last 24 hours Cloud base 2898 ft Its sunny, beautifully sunny, top down in the car sunny, no grey just SUNNY!
  24. Thanks Mr CB, captured beautifully, I wish I'd have joined you know!
