  1. Conditions in Eastbourne: 20 DgC 1011mb Wind has been up to 21MPH + gusting up to 30MPH S/SW but now calming Seemed to have escaped last nights major storms as it passed to the East of us. You could see the front moving towards Kent where they had the flash floods in Folkestone and Dover.
  2. A beautiful clear sky started the day (7.00am) at 17 DgC , this has developed into a hazy sky, still sunny and 22 DgC. Wind is about 10MPH, S/SE with cloud building to the South.
  3. Pulled over to take this one in Ditchling on the 'mobile' early on the 8th, just before some idiot slid into the front of the car! Sorry, only got the one as the others were of the damage for the insurance!
  4. Don't be glum chum! We got exactly what some of the local, knowledgeable posters said we would - our turn will come. The flip side of living in Eastbourne is that we get some (if not the most) sunshine hours in the UK - I love snow but I also love the sun! Would you really trade Crawley in the snow for Eastbourne??!!
  5. Well we got exactly what most people forecast, cold rain along the East Sussex coast. It did turn to 5cm of snowy mush just north of Lewes and then I got something that wasn't forecast - a Citroen Picasso sliding into the front of my car - plonker!!!! Still I am very happy for all you who got the real snow, its been a long wait. Perhaps we might see something before the end of this winter down here?
  6. Hi Tom, Strange that, I am at work in Burgess Hill, the sun is shining and from the office window it looks like any other lovely cold, clear winters day. When I go outside it is dead calm, no wind, no traffic, and no birdsong - nothing. Very eery as it has been like this all day - its never been like that here before as we are on a busy industrial estate..... What will tomorrow bring us?
  7. Blimey, is that a ramp in your avatar Blizzards or just a slightly inclined walkway?!!
  8. Just picked up the car from my local dealer and they have made all the modifications exactly as I asked -
  9. I was thinking about giving these guys a call: http://www.rampnow.com/ramps.htm As they say on the site 'RampNOW sells and rents many types of ramps. We are the ramp professionals' But as I am the 'wrong side' of all the action at the moment, is it worth me buying something or just renting for two or three weeks?
  10. Just getting full ramp facilities ready for the younger local residents........
  11. 2 or 3cm yesterday morning looked great first thing. The slush freezing into an ice rink on the roads between East and West Sussex was a little worrying but then that’s a Council/Highways Agency gritting issue. Is it just the snow falling that people are so hyped (sorry I mean romantic) about, is it the dusting we had that makes the landscape look all 'old style' wintery, or is it the thick stuff we want to make igloos, snowmen and have snowball fights? Some people seem content with a few hours giving a light covering but others need to be up to their necks in it for weeks. I just want an excuse not to go into work!!!
  12. Good morning all, Nice scattering of 2 to 3cm of snow from a good shower that started at about 5.30am this morning. Still snowing on the way into work (Burgess Hill) at 7.30am but treacherous roads from Plumpton to Ditchling Common as the Council had decided not to grit the roads just yet! Lots of cars in ditches and hedges as the soft snow had frozen into an ice rink. I was due to go to Duxford today but have called that off, I hope theres a chance of more snow lying tonight as I might not get into work at all, shame!
