I have never seen 10 before. Not sure I've even seen it above 7 before.Air quality is forecast to be 10 here on Wednesday, and 10 in London Monday-Wednesday. Does anyone know how common it is to see 10's? Does it happen multiple times per year or is it rarer than that?

Ants, bumble bees and lots of butterflies out today here. 19c and hazy sunshine though a little
Cloudier recently from some clod advection from France.
-
Conor most of the cloud is now associated with cloud in the south east coming out of France. Might actually clear a bit soon as there is a kink in the cloud on its western flank. No where near as cold as 13c here though. 18c presently

Risk if some thundery imports tomorrow morning? Then the afternoon and evening look good tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday in particular. The S/SEE winds look to favour the West Midlands and parts of Wales in particular.

Unlucky you lot. Some haze here but the sun almost constantly out and 19c. Less wind than yesterday thus feeling even warmer. Brilliant day

At least they do do it on a Sunday. If it was a weekday then God knows what. In all honesty I wouldn't even mind if we moved to DST and just stayed there,(ie: always on DST through the year) but messing around with the clocks every March and October is just a hassle and completely pointless.
I do agree somewhat there. I would be quite happy with BST all year. Though I dont mind the earlier dark evenings especially in Autumn as it adds to the Christmas festivities but thereafter, Im craving for light and warmth!

That is true but let's be realistic do we spend all our time eating caviar and drinking champagne, outdoors? It is just a nuisance, just keep with one thing, much more convenient. It is very unatural to see light at 9pm. Far majority carry life out just like they do now.
Bit OTT that  wrt to champagne etc. I could argue its just as unnatural to see it dark at 4pm in December... But still, each to their own I guess. For sure, most will get about as normal, but just like some enjoy the dark (!?!?), many will enjoy the opportunities lighter evenings bring too.

1. Days are so long in June anyway (16+ hours) that it doesnt make much of a difference
2. Why do we throw it back in October? - Days are so short in winter.
3. The morning after DST comes into force, there is a peak in heart attacks due to sleep deprivation. So unless the country likes to kill it's citizens...
That's my grudge towards it.
True in June its quite good anyway but still, we dont get to enjoy it for long so BST helps a bit more. We spend enough time indoors in this country complaining we want to be outside!
As for point 3, wheres the evidence for that? Surely it must be a very minor increase if so? Being a Sunday, it must be easier, just to go back to sleep or lie in...

Still 11c here. Much better.

The day arrives where we screw around with the clocks for no Goddamn apparent reason.
Will make evening socialising outdoors far more enjoyable. Perfect on warm evenings for a couple of drinks after a long days work whilst the chiminea burns and watch the sun set. Heaven.

Excellent day and not too hazy actually. Nearly 19c here!

Not to be taken literally of course but NMM going for some pretty high CAPE values especially for relatively early Spring on Monday for the Central/West Midlands. Lightning Wizard suggests Equilibrium Level temperatures wont be very low though on Monday? Could be a problem?
-
NMM model going for some pretty high cape values on Monday afternoon/evening. Infact some very high figures for relatively early Spring imo! Does have a plume feel to it this albeit not in the sense of heat but in the sense of warm sunny days and the risk of late afternoon/evening thunderstorms.
And the wind direction is perfect for the Midlands, especially the West Midlands in particular.

Next week looks like a very early plume type scenario. Warm in any sun and on some days the warmth generating some heavy slow moving thundery showers - the Midlands and parts of the west and CS England look at a particularly good shout for this. Perfect

Glad I could be of service bringing the storms back. And as promised I'm bringing the warmth too. Looks like extended it for you too next week

Hail storm here in Taunton. Thunderstorm nearby.
-
Currently at Taunton. Quite dark skies maybe associated with incoming storm from the East though looks like it will hit a bit further north than here.

Please do. With non-electrified soft hail/sleet and rain showers here today, I think we could definitely do with your help of adding more of a thundery feel for the Midlands. No low-quality thunderstorms are allowed to be brought up please - just the ultra high-quality ones. Thanks. ;-)
We just had the one bolt but my it was extremely powerful!!!
-
Indeed, anything E of South usually works very well for the Midlands. However I cant really remember the last time storms were almost tracking pretty much directly from the East! Quite rare!
-
Had an extremely close lightning bolt here in Falmouth about an hour ago. Think it struck about 20-50m away. Can I bring back the thunderstorms too tomorrow?
-
Random solitary lightning bolt struck here in Penryn about an hour ago. Seemed to strike the university campus. Instantaneous thunder and I think it struck only about 20-50m away from me! Never been that close before! and not sure I want to get any closer!!!
