Am hoping for a little something overnight - a fresh covering would be good but I doubt it!

Definitely at a 3 on the Voldemort scale now in Reigate. I’ve just been out for a walk and it’s absolutely perishing!

The MetO's mobile app is all over the place most times, but the BBC app was spot on for today's streamers which is a surprise
Interestingly, it’s already reduced Saturday’s temperature from 7 to 4!

I actually think at least till Friday that looks reasonable! I think Sunday is where its probably going to go wrong...
I'd go for something similar myself, unless you get a real blast of snow that looks a good estimate to me. Maybe Wednesday might be a touch colder.
Yes, it’s mostly the weekend I think it’s out...

I’ve had a thought. I’m going to see how bad the met office app forecast is here for temperatures over the next week. Here’s the maximum temperatures it is forecasting today for this week:
08/02 predictions:
Monday: -2c
Tuesday: -1c
Wednesday: 1c
Thursday: 0c
Friday: 1c
Saturday: 4c
Sunday: 7c (!)- 3

Snow has increased a little in intensity now to around 4/10

Snow is probably a 2 on the Voldemort scale (he who should not be named...)
very light snizzle type stuff at the moment but it’s very cold out there!

Light snizzle in a freezing breeze here in Reigate - not really optimistic for much today but anything that falls will stick!

1cm of snow in the places where it has actually settled. Not bad for 12 hours of falling. And all that at 110m asl.
Dry and cold now. Breezy.
Tempted to head out for a walk later but not convinced I'll need to dig out the crampons and ice axe just yet.
It has been a tedious day!

I hope so but I'm setting the bar low with regards to hopes. If only the snow and temperatures had arrived as forecast at 11pm -12pm last night we would have had a decent covering instead of these scraps. Hope the ground freezes up a bit the footpaths are mud baths
I went for a walk around Earlswood lakes - it was like a mud Bath!

Well we are below freezing now in Reigate with a thin covering that will be rock hard in the morning! What do people think of streamers or shower activity tomorrow and into Tuesday - the forecast certainly thinks there’s chance for something and it’s not forecast to be above freezing until the end of the week...

Unfortunately these things happen.
There is certainly some similarties to 26h Feb 05 and the snow that never was. That was a real let down for me as it was my first time dealing with a true bust.
I remember that - such a damp squib!

Dad in east Bergholt has 5 inches of snow and he keeps sending videos of my nephew tobogganing (I’m not jealous at all...)

In reigate, it’s snowing reasonably (maybe 4 or 5/10) but only sticking to hedges a bit etc
current temp: 0.6c, dp -0.8c - really need to get the air temp below freezing

It’s just starting to think about settling on cars and hedges here in Reigate

This does look good for the Reigate area and much of the Surrey hills!
