Heavy fine snow blowing around and it's now settling on cars roofs and grass etc..
Hmmm, not far from me - the added height must help?

Slight icy sound as the drizzle is flung against the window by a horrible gale.
Deeply foul weather.
I did see some snowflakes being battered around in the wind.

The maps suggest we are right on the edge of the 24-hour continual flow of snow!
- that could be infuriating!

I noticed that too...

I remember 2010 well, I remember offering to go and rescue her, I had a 4x4 volvo at the time. I have a proper 4x4 now, (land rover) which has barely seen snow since...
I remember, thank you!

On 24 January here near Dorking the A25 was gritted the night (Saturday) before and there was a sharp frost. Snow started at about 0900 and was 12cm deep by 1115. The road was covered as if it hadn't been gritted at all.
Same here in Reigate - gritting won’t help overnight!

That’s true - although you do have box hill close by for more snow...

That would make my little boy very happy. He’s already asking what time can he get up in the morning
Admit it, it’s you asking isn’t it?

Does the downs take alot of the snow out of the showers if they are moving down from the n/e?
Not normally - Epsom is in a good spot for a streamer. The story I’ve often told on here was when my wife got stuck driving back in the snow from Epsom in December 2010 when pregnant - she left at 3pm and got to Reigate at 1.30am!!

Epsom normally does well out of this sort of set up

That certainly is a factor, but a dew point of, say, -1C while the air temperature is say, 4C, will probably not produce snow. Both temperatures are equally important.
Noticed your location - brockham must look stunning in the snow!

I notice that the amber warning is only about 10 miles east of here - I wonder what we will get in Reigate...

Looks like my parentals in east Bergholt are going to do well out of that!
16 minutes ago, Blessed Weather said:Here's how Norwich based weather company Weatherquest sees the snowfall totals for East Anglia by the end of Sunday. So their chart is basically showing the frontal snowfall coming into the Region tonight and into Sunday and doesn't include any shower/streamer activity on Monday and Tuesday. They acknowledge the northern and western extent of the snowfall is uncertain. (Their chart does NOT mean London and the SE get no snow; it's just showing EA totals).

Has anyone else noticed that the beeb forecasts, national and SE on Sunday show temps of +2 or 3c? In my experience that means snow NOT settling!? Why are they showing such high temps?
That’s because they always do the temperatures I. Urban areas which are typically warmer - but I think they are overdoing it!
