Not hopeful for anything remotely thundery here again today. Yesterday proved a proper let down.
-
Bit of a let down so far here. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!
-
-
Hopeful for a bit of action later. Sun is currently beating down so hope the surface heating continues
-
Pretty much zero wind here, theres a big oak at the back of my garden and theres not enough breeze to cause movement in the branches. Just dull, overcast and humid. Pretty much the same of what we've had most of the summer. Envious of everyone thats got something resembling a breeze right now! lol

Very disappointing here! Gust wise nothing above 10-15mph. Its actually calmer than yesterday...Think we may have missed out on this one
-
Met Office not showing anything above 25mph for where we are. NW/ W coast Scotland and Ireland will take a bit of a beating but don't think anything to worry about down here :-)
Mean speeds obviously. But can't anticipate anything gusting above 35-40 here. Pretty sheltered.

Not wishing to rain on anyones parade but latest models show it tracking further north and west than originally forecast. NW coast of Scotland will get clipped but thats about it. This going to be biggest non-event of 2011. Press are ramping it up and is an "event" only in the context of the incredibly dull weather we have had to suffer in 2011. Be surprised if even the Outer Hebrides see gusts above 40-50mph.

Can't see anything above 20-30mph tops hitting this neck of the woods. Think "breezy" rather than "hurricanes" the order of the day here on sun/mon
-
Very weak, heading north of this location now. Not much electrification. Still its a start!
-
Its all suddenly kicked off here! torrential rain and clap of thunder :-)
-
nothing doing here...same dull and overcast blanket we have had since midday
-
Wondering what the likelihood is for some action in this neck of the woods. (Cheshire/ Merseyside) been starved of late. Currently just dull and overcast right now, but my head is pounding!
-
Absolutely nothing happening round here. Spitting with rain and gone a bit darker and thats about it. Grrrr. Any chance of something later I wonder...

THE WORST possible summer weather here. Drizzly, very overcast and humid. No chance of storms this week, so nearly three years and counting for me :-(
-
Just as bad as last year, very very depressing weather here this summer. When it has actually been hot, it has been too uncomfortably humid to enjoy it. I can remember no more than three of four days where we have had a nice clear blue sky, it has been the same dull, overcast blanket of cloud pretty much throughout the June-August period. And no storms, just the odd distant rumble of thunder and no lightning. (once in June IIRC, it just hasn't got hot enough to set anything off)
There doesn't seem to be a consistancy in the good weather anymore. It might be my memory playing tricks but I remember in summers past you were pretty much guaranteed at least a spell of four/ five days of good fine weather. Now it is one nice day followed by 14 rubbish ones!
Don't think I can take another summer here like this. Utter rubbish!

I think I have quite possibly the most boring weather here at the moment. Absolutely no rain and nothing coming my way on the radar but loads of cloud so the sun cant even come through. How annoying.
I know what you are saying though, it seems everyone is having a great (stormy) time apart from us! We have had the same bland weather (ie wall to wall cloud, no sun, no heating) for three weeks now.
Hope you get something soon.
-
wall to wall featureless grey skys, no heat, no convection, no hope. Had enough now. See you all next year...
-
Cant believe you missed out then on the storms of July 29th (?) last year....we had 4 of them in the space of a few hours, was a damn good night that watching them drifting up from the North West Midlands...since then besides a woefully weak storm in April...absolutely nowt other than a couple of rumbles.
yep, they slid past us to the west and all we got was a distant rumble or three...
-
still the usual summer pattern of endless cloud and no rain here again today. Subscription expired yesterday and I am not even sure I can be bothered renewing this time round. Used it mainly for access to the radar and tracking storms but hey, its money wasted if we never get any!
Even some drizzle would be welcome right now, its that bad. I just can't believe how storm starved this area is, I think our last proper "storm" as opposed to a feeble rumble of thunder, was back in 2002...
-
Doesnt look good for us again...very overcast at the moment and only 11c so no chance of heating...hope others have more luck
-
Am getting really cheesed off now, nothing at all last week, and now seemingly everywhere except our little part of the world is getting a storm. What do we have...wall to wall grey sky, not even rain! Arrrrrrrrgh...

Seems like Meto are petrified of getting caught out in not forecasting something that they prefer to put a blanket "yes it will thunder" over the entire country! Theyve probably got personal injury lawyers advsing them "safety first" whenever they put out a forecast. Its a joke...there hasn't been the slightest chance of even a clap of thunder in these parts this week. And yet...the forecasts said different!

Absolutely dismal day here, one of the worst I can remember. No sunshine, just a constant layer of drab greyness and the rain not quite heavy enough to be "interesting", just constant. And the problem with my location is the North Easterlies push all of the chemical pollution from the refinery/ chemical plants over the town, so we have a great combination of disgusting weather AND a terrible stench. Not pleasant.
