  1. The dry area is clearly visible on the met office radar. Hopefully this doesn't limit our chances later tonight.
  2. Not something to be expected at this stage but would be a nice surprise if it does hit the region.
  3. Yes it's the torrential stuff that was forecast for South but has gradually been modelled further North and east.
  4. Looking ahead to tomorrow evening, the HIRLAM model is interesting to say the least...
  5. Yep. Good covering although its too powdery to make a snow man.
  6. Beyond what's on the radar is anyones guess! Hopefully yes!
  7. Looking further ahead (currently to Tues) the wind remains generally from the east with daytime temperatures barely above freezing. There could be more opportunities in the days ahead that aren't yet forecast... remember last week the BBC predicted a dry and cold week ahead and look how that turned out!
  8. It is absolutely freezing out there! Taking rubbish to bin in t shirt not a good idea!
  9. Once this set of showers has passed by there looks to be a couple of hours of dry clear weather before those showers in the North sea blow inland. What's after these.... who knows! Tomorrow will be treacherous on the roads where snow has compacted and partially melted.
  10. Yep, radar suggests stable area with no showers. Need this area to head away from us.
  11. There are definitely more showers forming in the North sea now. These should blow over much of Yorks.
  12. We will get some within the hour then a dry slot. After that is anyone's guess!
  13. I think Leeds will get some, but as you say, S York's more of it.
  14. Unfortunately there is an area of drier air just off the east coast of Yorks. This radar image clearly shows lack of showers in this area. We need winds to veer more NE to get more showers.
  15. Sun's out now.... drip drip drip! Although many of the drips are forming into icicles.
  16. I think these just extend the current shower activity rather than introduce new showers. Good to see progress of existing weather but bad for new showers in my opinion.
  17. Snap, just not high enough where I am. Fingers crossed for more this aft and tomorrow. With weather warnings extended into Yorks it may be another interesting day.
  18. Wish the radars would cover the entire North sea. We could then see what's out there!
  19. Lots of icicles today, especially on cars where the slush has frozen. Much colder than it was yesterday and thd wind is whipping up the snow. Just about 2 inches so adequate for sledging!
  20. South Yorkshire streamer looks like it will die off in next hour or so. My next area of interest is the showers just south east of hull that are now appearing on radar. These look more in line with west yorkshire!
  21. There's more snow just creeping into view on the radar in the North sea. Slightly further North than the Sheffield streamer.
  22. You will be burried by the end of today. V jealous!
