  1. "if you get money from the government it is taxes" I'm sorry, that's what I thought I'd said by using i.e. If your financing depends on a certain result, it's not unlikely that you'll continually achieve that result. That's one of the reasons Stalin always thought his Five Year Plans were working.
  2. "Odd, I'd have though everyone needs to be paid to get by? Do sceptics somehow not need money" They need to get theirs from sources other than governments, i.e taxpayers, i.e. us!
  3. I heard this story on the radio this morning. Can't help thinking that it's not what a lot of people on here wanted to hear. I'm sure it will be discredited in due course.
  4. So all those bottle-bank trips, low-energy light-bulbs and carbon-footprint guilt serve only to make trendies feel more comfortable with themselves: http://www.guardian.co.uk/theguardian/2008...atechange/print
  5. Another respected view: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/c...icle2709551.ece
  6. "Interesting that you've chosen to join a forum where there's a hidden agenda then. Sorry, but I don't get it. " I wasn't conscious of the "agenda" until after I'd joined, and my posts were subsequently deleted. Do you "get" that?
  7. "Perhaps you could take more than a handful of posts before you start accusing the volunteers that run this place of having an "agenda"? It's highly irritating and very disrespectful" I don't mean to irritate or display a lack of respect. However, the handful of posts is of no consequence, as I've read the forums of this site for close on 3 years so I'm well aware of the way the wind blows. Perhaps annoying would be the suitable adjective?
  8. Agree WIB I posted similar thoughts 2 hours ago, but they've mysteriously disappeared. Lucky there's no hidden agenda at work here!
  9. "I'm fed up of nonsense like this. If you don't have a scientific point to make, give up the personal jibes and leave things alone." Good.
  10. First post from long time lurker. Great stuff White Xmas. I guess all the AGW worshippers (yes, that's meant to be religious) are too busy at the Al Gore shrine to "crucify" you just now. No doubt they'll get round to it. If crucifiction fails, death by boredom will doubtless ensue.
