Good storm just passed. Constant thunder and one clear gunshot to SW (positive.) but never actually saw any lightning. Over all to quick as moving fast. There was nowt on the radar to the SW then a cell developed near Newark and half an hour later it was here going bonzos! Another has just gone up near Newark.....

Thunder heard here!

Strongest it's been all day here in the last hour and a large Norway maple (130 years old or so) down in my road. Pity, it's part of an avenue. Somewhat surprised when I went out to walk the dogs!

Just look at all the small circulations in and around the Humber at the moment on the NW Radar. Zoom in on the Humber area and run the last hour's animation. Outside at the time it was getting dark with low banks of stratocumulus and rain cores as this band passed with some very heavy rain.

Seems as if the Scunthorpe cell was just for me. Popped up just before it hit here then as soon as it moved away it has now almost vanished off the radar
Yep, was looking forward to that one.......

Storm over the S Bank of the Humber at the mo looks interesting. Lots of lightning on Blitzortung and some outflow bands showing up on radar. Can see the top of the Cb from here.
Outflow band headed North and now developed into a cell that's now dropping bolts over Cottingham. Been dry in Bev prety much all day, except for first thing although I have heard thunder and seen lightning for the last few 2.5 hours or so. Might pop into the back garden and see if I can see anything....

Impressive convection for a day that was supposed to be dry. I was looking towards this cell watching some rapidly rising scud but had to leave to take the husband for his covid jab.
PS I’d try to join the group but being from Hull I don’t think they’d let me in.
John, the person who runs the group lives in....Hull :-) I'd give it a try.

Actually, checked my (naff) video and it was 16:17...
Another one was reported at 15:20 on the other side of the town near Tickton: that's two today and I did notice TC over that way at the time.

My stepdad said he saw a funnel cloud too around 4pm and it got halfway down from the cloud. He was driving in north Hull facing west. Was probably around the Skidby area at the time.

Tornado lasted for nearly 10 minutes just west of Bev half an hour ago or so. Phone pics and vid are useless (wide angle...) but here is a radar screenshot at the time in precisely the right location and direction of travel (zoom in on NW radar and you'll see it). Very unusual radar signature. Nice crowd watching it from here. Will check local twitter/ FB and see if anyone has some better pics

The heaviest radar returns are along the large showers heading into NE Scotland: these have moved a bit South in the last couple of hours. Down here you can still see the remains of the cloud shield from the depression but this is beginning to move away East and now you can see the streamers better. They are not as strong as the brute coming into Moray, however, they are pronounced and the one coming in towards Flamborough seems to have some pep (cloud height) to it, some 50 miles off shore.
Interesting to see how this develops....

I have a few saved low pressure sodium streetlight heads and a sleeve for a column. Been tempted to find a used column from the web and mount my own in the back garden.
I'm sure the neighbours won't mind too much...XD!The local bat population might have something to say too! Pips like them though

0.7°c here in Bev with a DP of 0.3°C. Temp has been creeping down slowly about 0.1°C per hour so might get some snizzle before the warmth arrives! We cling on to hope by our fingertips in the wild East!
