Absolutly throwing it down, not seen rain like this for months, gardens flooded, and in the last 10 mins we've had 12 mm come down, digital rain gauge struggling to keep up with it, tis rather intertaining had 41 mm so far today and still going up!

Has there been any average or below average winters apart from 05/06, since 2000? can't think of any

Was most suprised today how warm and sunny it was hottest day of the year so far with a high of 25.1c, beating the last high of 24.5c which was way back in june, we've not got any higher than 23.6c since the 9th of june, till today

Warm sunny and humid here rapid cloud devlopment though some beefy towers shooting up like yesterday but they are overhead instead hoping we might be in for what north devon got yesterday it looked amazing

I must say its been the coolest summer in my memory for a while the nearset to it in recent times was 2004, but we had a couple of hot spells and in the first week of August temps here hit 30c and it the high 20's for the rest of the week. I would like to think such a Average to slightly below average summer would equal a cold winter like in the 1960's. But i have a strong hunch, that although signs are good for a cool/cold winter the weather has a habbit of doing things in the oppposite way e.g: cool summer/ mild winter and hot summer/Cold winter: though it usually is mild more often than cold. I dont know it that makes any sense lol but i've just always seen as warm summers and cold winters having a link
