Cirrus/haze now arriving here - to the east it's still clear, but the western sky is very hazy. Hopefully, based on others' reports, it shouldn't last for too long. Look East dollybird predicting storms from late evening through to around 5-6 am tomorrow.
We must have been posting at the same time. I'm now getting some rain here again, though the dark clouds look to again be north of here, as you said and as the NW radar shows.
Since the showers we got earlier today, we've seen dark clouds passing to our north, but nothing much has come from them. I'm ex-pecting to get something soon, though, as I think the flow has indeed swung more NNW-SSE, as you predicted earlier.
Hi there from a fellow Norfolkian. I should have perhaps have typed the greeting of two Norfolk people when they meet outside of the county (the WWW probably counts) - "Hey yer fa'aer got a dickey, bor (or gal)?"
Yes it has been remarkably quiet around these parts. Mind you, I wish you hadn't mentioned the early December dy corridor - I've only just got over that!
Well, we got a small amount of rain overnight - not much, but enough to lay the dust and it at least gives us another day or two without rain before everything goes totally brown.
Never fear, John - I'm in here for real; I haven't seen lightning or heard thunder this calendar year yet; as soon as I do, I'll be more than happy to hand-in my membership card!
Most of the convective activity today looks to be for you lucky people in the west of England and Wales - I wouldn't mind if we'd had an interesting night last night, but we didn't. Only a tiny amount of light rain that had fully evaporated by the time we got up, so we're still in near-drought conditions.
One of the many reasons why electrical storms petrified me as a kid and still give me a mixture of excitement and fear today, especially (as this may be) when at night.
