  1. Have been out since around 5 pm and have just got back. Plenty of darkish clouds formed and we just got a light shower as I got back. Looking at the NW radar run for the period I was out, I see the line of showers that produced the one we've just had. Imagine what they'd have been like had the sun got out earlier!
  2. I'm sure I can see some radar echoes appearing in the South Midlands on NW radar.
  3. A lot more high cloud here now, which possibly might prevent convective storms during daylight hours?
  4. Ah, Wivenhoe; my aunt used to live there! Thanks for the welcome.
  5. Odd really, I'm not that far from you as the crow flies, and it's sunny here, albeit with some cloud floating around.
  6. Think I'll join if you don't mind, but might leave again after today/tonight!
  7. Morning all, looking at the radar for the past few hours, the storms either missed me to the West or fizzled as they got here.
  8. Nah, he shares my name! Difference is, he's from Texas, I'm from Norfolk - he's a meterologist - I'm a biologist!
  9. Can anyone else see the blobs in Northern France, roughly opposite East Sussex? Does anyone think they may affect my area tonight?
  10. Looking at the NW radar, I can see a blob in E. Normandy-ish heading north - could that possibly hit my area in the early hours I wonder?
  11. Cheers. If I do, I can't say I mind - storms at night aren't something I particularly relish!
  12. OK folks, be gentle with me! I know I haven't been on this forum since the snow of last winter - very sorry about that. I also imagine that this question has already been answered earlier in the thread, but can anyone make a prediction as to when and if I am likely to get storms overnight tonight, please? My location should be visible; if not, then I'm in South Norfolk. Thanks!
  13. LOL - I won't say anything about Glaswegians! BTW, I was right first time; three pairs.
