  1. A TWS has said, very strange ATM - big flakes of wet snow falling but not adding to what we already have.
  2. We just had a tiny flurry, only a few flakes, but interesting nonetheless.
  3. We have around 7-8 inches here, I reckon, but otherwise, similar to your situation.
  4. Glad to see we have a dedicated thread. We have had about another inch to inch and a half overnight - so we have 7-8 inches total.
  5. Thanks TWS for that glowing testimonial! We certainly get interesting weather here, and Norwich, given that it lies fairly close to the sea, gets quite a lot of snow I think.
  6. Sorry TWS, I phrased that question poorly - what I meant was - how would an anaprop look on the radar image? I noticed scrolling through last nights' radar that there seemed to be two jupms - one where all the showers disappeared except one band from on 5 minute image to the next, then, later on, the band disappears and the general showers reappear!
  7. Thanks TWS - I'll persevere with it I think! Can you explain how anaprops may manifest themselves, please? I'll bet the sloping bits of UEA are fun in this snow! Seen any daft female students slithering about in heels since this snow started? BTW, hi KK!
  8. Thanks. My recent experience with the NW radar is that it seems to show the general track of a shower, but seems inaccurate on timing. For example, the snow shower I reported earlier was shown on NW to have already passed over while we were actually getting the heaviest snow. Also, our member from Trowse reported snow there, whilst the radar showed nothing.
  9. Thanks - I used to use Raintoday as well, but when I subscribed, I decided to use the NW radar.
  10. Can I just take a quick straw poll, please? 1. Which radar are you all using to track the showers? 2. Do you have any opinion on the accuracy of the NW 5 minute radar? (Obviously, only those who use it will be able to answer that one). The reason I ask is that I'm getting ever more uncertain as to how useful the NW radar is - it seems wildly inaccurate to me, and that rather cancels-out the fact that it updates quickly.
  11. Which radar are you using? I'm getting seriously dubious about NW 5-minute radar's accuracy - shows nothiong anywhere near Norwich. Ah well, I'm an old git of 29, so those days are well behind me!
  12. I take it from your username you're from Long Stratton? This has been the first snow since 9 am here.
  13. It's eased off here ATM. My parents now got back from shopping in Eaton and the snow has been sticking on the B1113.
  14. Yes, dark cloud as far as I can see to the north, but NW radar suggests that the shower has already gone over - strange - there's more snow falling!
  15. I think the reason why is because I'm on the western edge of it. I suspect that if you went about 5-10 miles east it would be snow. EDIT: Fine snow now.
