  1. Hi NS - I haven't posted here for ages. Clouds are certainly indicating things are geting going, and I think the storms are going to be close to my area by around 10:30-11 p.m, going by NW radar.
  2. Dare I say that, generally, an end to the cold conditions will be welcomed by most in wider society?
  3. I'm confused -you can't be more than 30 miles from me yet I've barely seen any snow this winter.
  4. It was like that years ago - I rarely read that thread in winter these days.
  5. Not really - with hospitals struggling with Covid, the last thing they need is bad weather-related problems.
  6. Actually, Coronaviruses can withstand freezer storage, and humid air causes aerosolised droplets to fall out of the atmosphere indoors more rapidly.
  7. Not only that, but the virus likes the cold, plus humid weather causes the virus in aersols to drop out of the air column quicker.
  8. Peak temperaure on Wunderground at the nearest weather station I reference was 35.8C at 14:59.
  9. While the operational output isn't definitively incorrect, the fact that it's a strong outlier from the ensemble spread, and the fact that its trend is to increase temperatures while that of the ensembles is to decrease them suggests that it's unlikely at this juncture.
  10. Dry here all day, apart from a few drops earlier. Sounds as though we're going back to drought conditions in July, just as happened last year.
