  1. Not a problem John, will send it over.. Easier to see how it's presented than for me to explain..You will also see the wind direction and wind speed at different waypoints ( as you know) can't get over how accurate these are! Within a degree/knot or two compared to what we actually get up there. Absolutely phenomenal! Clever lot at Exeter!
  2. Hi, I fly for a well known large Orange and White UK based airline, we have a very good briefing system (lido) which includes a vast amount of weather related info ( even able to speak to a lovely met person on the phone ) As regards CAT, we have a shear rate level on our 1st briefing page. I believe this came from research done by Singapore Airlines... I maybe wrong on that one... It's pretty useful for a general guide and most of the time accurate but from my experience it's always going to be difficult/impossible to predict with any certainty CAT..
  3. Good Morning, A quick question while it's not too busy here.. As regards the Atlantic pushing back in ( albeit in FI ), do the models take into account cold air being entrenched over the UK? I am of the understanding that when cold air is here ( with snowcover as well ) it can be difficult to move?? My apologies for a simple question, and if it's not deemed a model thread worthy please delete mods... Back under ones rock for another five years.. Paul PS When at work yesterday (flying from Luton to Barcelona) the tropopause was 36000ft, we were at 38-39000ft and temp was -56. That is considerably warmer than a week ago when it was -69.. Maybe talking rubbish (again) but thought it maybe of interest.
  4. Mind them snow snow balls! Low low temps predicted by the ECM -20 or lower, but as always more runs needed Went running downstairs and showed the wife the ECM T168 and she said I need help! Which I found a bit weird :-)
  5. Rather quiet on here today, any thoughts on tonights snowfall?? How far south will it progress?
  6. An update from Oxford. No Snow falling.. Hardly any lying.. Hang on.. A flake.. Thats it...
  7. Not a problem, the forecast did mention another band of ppn on Thursday.. With temps being even lower with the snow cover could this mean any ppn would turn readily to sleet/snow? Paul
  8. Afternoon all, not sure if this has been posted already?? Countryfile weather forecast. About 50 mins into it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00hd33q Happy viewing.. PS.. Not a flake here yet.. Oxford
  9. Totally engrossed while having my coffee break, many thanks for the post John (and only you!!)
