The first south coast 'ice-day' I can remember for many a year. Nearest official recording station at Shoreham-by-Sea (Sussex) didn't rise about -1.5c.
After yesterday's slightly less cold day, the cold is back with avengence today. Down to just below -5c last night and still half a degree below freezing now. The sea looks gorgeous though with the blue skies and sunshine above.
As the sun starts to disappear now, that was the fifth consecutive day with pretty much unbroken sunshine on the Sussex coast. Expecting the temperatures to start falling rapidly now.
Torrential rain and much thunder and lightening, directly overhead Brighton at present. Rainfall is almost tropical in intensity. Radar suggests it won't last long though.
