poor winter overall. goes with the forecast back in november and ecm's seasonal forecast. azores high is a pain!!!!!! p.v over greenland to!
-
bbc forecasts are fantastic for tomomrow night. i can see it being a late night? if things go to plan
-
yes it good there but talking, locally to me and other parts of somersethow about bristol thats got to be a good 5-7cm
-
NAE isn't as good by midnight on i run but by 6am its covering a fair deal. most of somerset under a petty 2mm.= 2cm fall
-
it should freeze once the upper air cools downCurrent about a inch of snow left.. Its melting away
-
very windy now. shame thats the only interesting part round here now! had some pretty amazing snow earlier on though. cant complain
-
still a good covering with the rains coming down. a icey nightmare. at least yeovil got nothing i hear. very lucky to get what we did.
-
yes rain making its inroads felt. booooooo
-
Nice covering here in wincanton, good 2cm for sure
-
the mendips should get a few cm at least? id be surprised if wiltshire does and mendips dont
-
ukmo ecm gem all did move 12z west the gfs is poor and has all weekTrending East though Chris - i really cannot see any Westward movement at this stage for Sat/sun event now.
All eyes on next week for us Westerners i reckon
-
i have firm belief gem is correct holds with the block like it should and sends the snow where it should.
-
at least we will see a period of snow i guess. all of feb to go yet though.
-
il be rubbing for the gem tonight mate with my lucky coinYep, ECM even gives us some more interesting scenarios involving snowfall next week! This isnt over by a long shot, regardless of what happens this weekend
-
knife edge stuff for this area... tomomrow morning i hopefullly see a BIG upgrade west!!!
-
we will see but im sure it will be ok with faithThanks DK, not sounding too good for Dartmoor then, rain again!!!
-
if the ECM sticks to its gun then yes. there will be snow over east somerset eastwards, the worse case it will turn back to rain. the issue is i think last time it reached oxford on sunday but due to the high being eroded alittle bit it sounds correct the ukmo. Mendips higher ground of course a slight temp difference they might be fineSo with only a few days to go, is there any chance at all that this could come further west or are we running out of time?
-
ukmo has us in the (warm sector) reallty could do with a push west like the ecm last night. iffy. gfs is not far off!! so the chances of snow throughout is in doubt
-
means for most on here further west the better esp for me as im right on the edge i think the chart is following the -5 upper level rule? anyway the trend is west
-
how much truth is in there i think under -4 with surface cold that chart is abit bullishmore close up of the sw from the excellent maps from chris.
not snow for everyone, but 5-10cms widely for people in the right area and if ecm is right it won't melt the next day as the cold comes back in again !
-
as expect a very marginal event. the cold wasnt there the first place and left people downbeat again. dewpoints to high on the night to. but nice to see the white stuff falling after so long
-
looks to light and wont have a chance to settle with this. could be here all day and still be the same
-
yes turning to sleet\ snow here 2 now. looks far to wet on the ground and only being 80m. slow process
-
how high up are you mate?snow settlin on cars might go on a walk soon

time to look forward to some spring sunshine. high pressure in charge it seems. wish it were june rather than march
