  1. Yeah I take that back, if they don't die out Drogheda Nwards will probably see the bulk of it.
  2. A few lines of precip. forming south of the IOM. I think that Dublin Airport and Northwards is the place to be today
  3. Do you think that the wintry showers tomorrow will be more "interesting" north of say...balbriggan due to E winds?
  4. 2.8 deg and rain/sleet right down by the coast in SE Dublin. Very strong winds. If its like this here chances are that anything that falls in NI will be snow
  5. Really wonder who will hit that "sweet spot" tomorrow where prec. is at his most intense and temps just right side of marginal
  6. Unfortunately I'm not there at the moment, but this morning thunder-snow struck Rome, dumping between 1 and 5 cm (depending on area of the city). Accumulations would have been much more if heavy rain had not soaked the ground before the event. Here is a selection of youtube videos and photos! Enjoy! Oh and by the way it snowed with a -4.5 at 850 (taking into consideration that Rome is 25km away from the warm Mediterranean sea!) (a bit less at the Coliseum because of the massive urban heat island) http://www.meteogiornale.it/notizia/17310-1-24-anni-dopo-roma-di-nuovo-sotto-la-neve
  7. GFS did pick the new cold trend up before the European models (about a week ago i think?)! BUT i really can't see why people are so GFS addicted! GFS always goes on its romantic sagas before eventually agreeing with the European models - its happened many times before. I believe that in the timeframe we're looking at the European models are much more trustworthy in picking up trends (GFS beating them in longer range F1 trends though). Good Night and snowy dreams to all.
  8. 'Tis a messed up run, I'm pretty sure the 18z will change things around again anyway!
  9. haha 276 hrs = 30 cm of snow for Dublin ohoh silly GFS
  10. I'm still confident of an easterly - the building blocks are there - I wouldn't look after 100 hrs, they have changed, are changing, and will change
  11. a downgrade coud be on the way! cold pool pointing more towards central and southern europe, high pressure needs to shift NW (I think)
  12. lovely ooz run, even caravaggio wouldn't be able to paint something like that....the interesting developments aren't even in FI...what follows in F1 would be quite....northerly :smiliz19:
  13. JMA is the worst model out there (maybe not as bad as the Russian one)
  14. 174 hours: snow showers for E England NE England and Scotland
  15. wow, lovely HP between iceland scandinavia and greenland (162 hrs), lovely run so far
  16. the GFS parallel will substitute the operational (I don't have the date though)
  17. GFS 12Z...wow what an improvement, lets discuss!! high pressure building to the north after 130 hrs!
