The latest BBC online forecast keeps showers going over East Lothian and central/eastern parts of the Borders from this evening right through until tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed that they're onto something
Woop!
Here's hoping they are right, would love a good covering in the morning and for it not to melt completely by midday

NMM shows two bands coming through tonight. First around 4am affecting the central belt, another around breakfast time affecting Edinburgh, Fife and the Lothians. Surface temps below zero so any show should hopefully stick. Northerly really kicking in tomorrow though!

No snow overnight, dry, cold and clear at the moment. 0.8C

Very gusty here at the moment, has been pretty much all morning although its really starting to pick up now. Next door's just lost his front fence, Edinburgh Airport reporting 48 mph gusts at 11.50z. Charterhall 55mph as of 11.00z

Getting fairly gusty out there, blinds being sucked out the window, bins going down like skittles, clouds racing across the sky. Nothing like a good atlantic windstorm
-
Wee shower earlier left a dusting on all surfaces. Looks like another one inbound Edinburgh, perhaps might get side swiped here but doubting it. 0.9C

Bin day for me on Thursday aswell, looks like someone in Norway will wake up to the sight of an East Lothian council green wheeled bin flying by . In all seriousness looking like a very wild night

Just had a rain shower go through on a stiff WSW/W breeze, looking at the radar there's more inbound

Drizzle here for most of the morning as a warm front heads through, still on but a little bit more intermittent now

Managed a break in the clouds earlier around 9.30/9.45pm, bagged it just to the upper right of Orion. Centered Aldebaran (in Taurus) in the binoculars then dropped south slightly and edged right. Rather diffuse in nature and could have sworn I saw ever so slight movement against the background stars. Just visible to the naked eye as a faint smudge, averted vision needed though.

Chilly morning with a cold westerly wind, can see showers just running to the south

Temperatures shot up to 10.4C after the passage of the warm front earlier. Awaiting the cold front, odd to think it's going to be the complete opposite of mild tomorrow!

After a wild night with strong gusty winds, a squall line, hail and thunder and lightning, it's a considerably quieter morning.

Overturned HGV at M74 J10 (Wellburn) - J11 (Poneil). Some ferocious gusts piling into the side of the house here. Hope milkmaid and co are ok!!

Sounds very dangerous out there, hopefully people took notice of the warnings and are indoors. Have the really strong winds moved through, or is there worse to come?
Worse to come I think, peak around 3am-6am. Winds up north are far worse though. Gusts in parts not far off 100mph!

Absolute chaos there for around 15 minutes. Lightning, gun shot thunder, wall of hail pelting down (saw it coming over the houses in the distance), insane gusts. Still the occasional flash
-
To the north of Lewis now, where on earth is it going? Reykjavik?
Looks like some sort of Charter, probs heading off to the states. There must be a glitch either on the plane's transponder or flightradar24's database, hence why it's showing Shannon
-
Gusts whistling around outside, hoping this squall makes it over here for a night time light show before I head to bed
-
Looks like a squall line going over Glasgow on raintoday
Edit: Clear squall

Here's one to watch for EDI as the winds increase quite dramatically around these parts. Gusting 55kts at the airport now.
Is that not one of the Royal Mail flights? I wonder where they would divert or would it just fly back to EMA?
AWC16U, another RM flight from Stansted inbound to EDI

Thunderstorm icon appearing on the weather station now, never had that in the 5 years i've owned it

Just had the blinds forceably extracted from the bedroom and the front door flung open, some strong gusts!

And there goes a wheelie bin, first of many I suspect
Edit: A few more crashes and bangs in the last few mins, sounds like garden furniture in someone's garden
