BBC weather had me down for ice in the morning, but snow was not mentioned, think I will just get rain with maybe some sleet at most, certianly not expecting anything significant or if I did it would not settle, but hey I like to be proven wrong once in a while.
Tomorrow will tell.
Night all

I do not let the long dark nights bother me so much, I tend to live in the lounge during the week when not at work, keep cosy and go out for walks at the weekends when the weather permits it, come the spring I will start to turn my attention back to going outdoors more, with so many nature reserves and parks in this area there are plenty to visit, and all within ten miles or so.

Spoke to soon about the rain stopping, just looked out and it is back again.

ha ha, good idea, damp and mild here, boring weather tonight, just need some juicy ,exciting weather, preferably snow, a flurry, a flake, anything, i will take
Mild but breezy evening here, rain long since stopped, very damp out though.

Stopped raining here, wind has eased a bit. Shame the street looks like a battle of raves and parties has taken place thanks to all the bins blowing up the road last night spilling their contents of waste as they went.
-
After that wet and windy day I am glad to be home and dry for the evening, looking dodgy still for midweek.
-
Just noticed it is spitting of rain out here at the moment, trees are more mobile too so looks like the wind is already increasing.

528 air over us in the SE BBC showing temps 7c remember years ago 528 air indicated the Snow line and temps just above freezing, has this changed?
As far as I know that setup is borderline and is the boundry to potential wintry precip falling but not set in stone as other factors will be at play as well.

Think the snow for the SE/EA was never really on the cards TBH, nothing I saw anyway, think it was more hope than forecast.

Hi All, has anyone got a link to the country file forecast pleeeeease
-
Snow for the north of the UK maybe with western areas at high levels, but did not see any mention of snow for our region next week on any day just a shift to cold after the end of the week, think they said "frosty".
Wet and windy seems to be the recipe for the week overall though.

I appear to have fallen into one of the global warming/climate change threads by accident!

Not wishing to sound like I am poo pooing the storm midweek, but I genuinely hope to avoid anything damaging for a change.

im sure im going to end up with an open plan garden this winter, my fences sway in the wind, and are held up with ivy, good job i live in the country side,
That was my issue the last two winters, really want a winter for once where I keep a closed plan garden for a change.

Like I said, feel we have enough threads for MOD use already, the General MOD thread is where output is already discussed, be it warm, dry, wet, cold or other wise, the output remains the same for everyone.
Then there is the technical (In depth) thread for further analysis.
For everything else is the MOD banter thread.
This to me seem quite adequate for Model discussions.

Does anyone know what time the westher in on on countryfile?
Normally in the last 10-15 minutes of the program

Morning
Looking cool, not been out but the remote sensor reports 3.0oC out, no sign of any frost but it is a clear, calm and bright start to the day here.
-
Think there are enough model related threads already without causing confusing an/or spreading the debate more thinly.

Thanks Matt.
Seems a lot calmer outside now, just had a quick nose and still a breeze but nothing like it was this morning, much colder though, soon pulled my nose back in and shut the door again.

I saw that, a majority of the reds are along the EA coastline this evening.

Britain to be hit by 250mph gales as fierce polar jet stream brings storms and flood fears
BRITAIN is about to be battered by a week of violent storms with the first set to roll in off the Atlantic as a fierce Polar Jet stream hurtles into the UK today. Forecasters warn winds of up to 250mph strong enough to damage buildings and topple trees will persist through to next weekend.
What a crock of Shallots

3.5oC now outside, wind has eased a bit more so would not be surprised if some sheltered spots round here see some frost by morning.
-
Wed night into Thurs morning looks cack.
-
Still tad windy out, does not seem as bad as this morning though and temps are falling, down to 8.1oC now, mainly clear skies means it is nice, dry and bright out for now.

Cloudy here now, feeling cooler but no precip so far today, keeping an eye on the radar.
