doors and windows open to let some of the heat out and cool in here, muggy night ahead I think
-
not happy, dark already, not liking these deepening dark days. Miss the long light evenings already.
-
cold damp yes, but hot/warm damp?
-
Blimey! I still have doors and windows open. Sounds like some of the peeps I work with, they whack the AC to 25C when on days when it is 30out coz they get cold

Remember during the Iceland volcanic ash crisis that the lack of planes flying over the UK led to some clear days overhead here.
So are we making more clouds? just a thought.
Remembered this link from a few years ago
-
yup and we are all paying for it turning the lights on
-
turned out nice here in the end, OK it retained the humidity to a degree but overall it was not that bad once the rain departed.

Lovely post stainesbloke - it just summed up the day nicely! Me and Mrs Blessed also enjoyed a trip to the pub this afternoon and a nice bbq in the garden this evening and it was still 21C at 20.30. It doesn't get much better for a British summer's day! Hope we get a few more weekends like this before summer's end.
Absolutely, this weekend just gone was the perfect weekend, even better I was out all weekend with a trip to the seaside and music and nature event at a local country park. Summer is not over yet and I hope she puts out a few more weekends like it.

With the current washout Summer, I am praying to the Spaghetti Monster this year so we can get a nice warm September and a cold, snowy Winter.
As a Pastafarian I suggest you keep wearing a colander on your head also to please the monster.

Cloud is being stubborn here today
-
Sun sun sun in the oh never mind, it was sunny here getting to that time now where it departs sadly. Some cloud though.
Been warm this evening so musnt grumble.

Thought most sensible countries put some money into at least a single weather organisation they would need and use for various needs of that country, so cannot see why anyone would expect the UK to be any different.

Like John Hammond for his involvement with Country File.
Used to Carol K in the mornings for the National forecasts.
Local? Alex Dolan/ Sara Thornton but it depends I suppose.

Always check the radar for rain/showers, golden rule

I've just never heard a workplace be referred to as an orifice before!
It can feel like the back end some days.
-
You work in a where?!
Why I miss having my own office and work in a shared/open one now.
Basically individuals will whack up/down the AC/Heat as they see fit rather than what everyone else wants and the vampires close the blinds as soon as it is daylight (even on a cloudy and dull day). Hence the phrase.

still light in the evening, who would have guessed it?

I don't understand the point of this post? I don't think anyone was championing themselves as a cold weather "hero".
Did not think the post was either, it was just making a personal point on the matter.
I work in an orifice with AC and windows yet I have to obey the heat/cold/light as they see fit not myself (yes it rankles much)

Had more warm and sun here than not this summer, been nice overall.. Went out for a walk yesterday evening again and got home five and a half hours later in the dark but still short sleeves for me.
Loving this summer more than not, the poor days are far behind the good ones for this years tally IMHO.

Some rain yesterday afternoon, nothing much mind, some in the forecast later in the week.
Today has been very much of the warm and dry variety.
-
Still plenty of light left yet for a few months top and tail of the day.
-
Evening all
Summer is still going, autumn if far from my mind, we have another month of good weather (willing) till that should start to change.
-
Just seen an Admrial and two peacocks attend my buddleia
