  1. sweet! Will watch! Sent from my nokia e66
  2. Why was this thread moved from General Autumn???? Anyway, snow still hanging around (surprisingly) and the hills around Oslo ar totally white, and will likely stay that way for a while with cold temps over the weekend (-8 to -1C for Oslo! Brrrrrrr)
  3. A few more pics taken 5 min ago ... snow going rapidly! Carpark Looking towards Fornabu from Lilleaker looking out over Oslo Fjord, from Lilleaker
  4. Snow rapidly melting at sea level, but a totall accumulation of 10-15cm was seen, which is pretty impressive for a 3 hour fall (5cm an hour is heavy, even for here!) Still at least 5-10cm on the ground, and the hills around Oslo should remain white for the next week at least.
  5. Right now, as I look out the window of my office it is PUKING down heavy snow in central Oslo. First snow of the year (at sea level) is creating havoc with the traffic, with no clearing and half the cars have not changed to winter tyres yet. I just waded through 10cm of the stuff from the train station, and the bottom of my jeans are wet It is likely to switch back to rain by this afternoon, so I might miss it with the camera Took the little one outside to meet hugheys best drop for the first time this morning. She didnt think much of it, but there are not too many Aussies who can say that they had their first snowflake hit them when they were 10 weeks old! Photos from Lilleaker, Oslo 9am 29th Oct 2008
  6. Full updates ... http://www.scandinavianweather.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=93
  7. Not sure. Snow in October is not unusual, but nothing in downtown oslo this year yet ... there is quite a lot of snow falling over the hills right now, however, and that could drop to 200-300m on Monday, which might see some snow for the hills around Oslo ... at least the Troll thinks so. While a few of those pics were taken with a circ polariser, the jpeg compression on resize seems to have made the colours a bit wrong. Look at the full sized versions to see what I mean. My faves are the ones not taken with a polarising lens ... for example ... http://www.owithalinethroughit.com/gallery.../mcIMG_4849.jpg http://www.owithalinethroughit.com/gallery.../mcIMG_4883.jpg http://www.owithalinethroughit.com/gallery.../mcIMG_4920.jpg http://www.owithalinethroughit.com/gallery.../mcIMG_4921.jpg and this one is a real beauty IMHO http://www.owithalinethroughit.com/gallery.../mcIMG_4950.jpg I just love the simplicity of it ...
  8. Autumn leaves, yellows, reds, greens ... Autumn in this part of Europe is simply stunning. It was too nice a day to go to work ... so I called up the boss in the morning and said "It is too nice a day to come in, so I'm not going to ... see you tomorrow", then took the little one to the helsestajon (health station) to get weighed ... and took a few piccies on the way Enjoy! James Click for larger The graveyards in Norway are simply stunning ... immaculately prepared, cared for and are dotted throughout the city. I love to walk through them and find new things to capture. If you are interested there are quite a few more here ... http://www.owithalinethroughit.com/gallery...mnleaves171008/
  9. Ok, these are some photos taken at the same time if you are really interested. Am doing a new highspeed video right now of sunset ... it has been an extrodinarily beautiful day here today... couldnt be arsed going to work, so I didnt, and went for a walk with the little person. Photos to come later * I don't think she is too impressed and the walk home
  10. ... more here http://www.scandinavianweather.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=93
  11. Thanks, I've been trying to think of how to make them better? Is Zoomed in better (like the first) or is a wider field shot best (like the second) or is the cloud formations themselves the most important?
  12. Ignore the link above ... the sound was stuffed so uploaded a new version with the sound fixed. Dont get too excited, still nothing special.
  13. Here is a longer highspeed video taken from near Homenkollen later in the afternoon from a place called Frognerseteren Restaurant ove 49 minutes and accelerated 50 times. It overlooks the entire Oslo, and Oslo Fjord. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4-2LAczS20 It is interesting to note the way in which the clouds evaporate. You dont notice that at normal speed. I assume the cloud ahead of the main cloud is blown forward by the wind, evaporates until enough has evaporated to saturate the air ... Interesting process anyway!
  14. Thanks, was just having a play ... that shot was 17 minutes ... might try a longer one later.
  15. Decided to try my hand at some high speed cloud footage. In the background of this very short clip is the Homenkollen Ski Jump. It has been sped up 100 times. Enjoy!
  16. The Troll has posted his first snow prediction updates of the season ... I'll try and remember to copy them here
