If we do get anything towards the end of the week (thurs/Fri seems the main risk... if at all of course...), I feel it'll be raining 1st as we see LP arrive from the SW drawing up S'ly winds, then draw in the colder air as it clears. A case of waiting for that low to begin to clear away and draw in N/NE winds and then see what happens.
This of course does depend on the exact track of the low of course, and I should add I'm in no way an expert at charts. Just viewing what the mod thread post so am probably wrong
My girl sent me this from Berlin friday , her position is totally different to us ,so take no notice ..but cold air is there as such but ...you wouldnt go for a swim in north sea atm but its relatively warm so air has to be bloody cold .. we know the score

Yeah, I thought I’d try the old reverse psychology trick for a change!
I’ve got fed up in the past telling friends and family of impending snowmageddon based on the GFS 240 only for it to disappear in a puff of smoke.
Puff of a joint you mean ...yep you take it as good spell or gospel then cold rain ..sleet on car windscreen if really lucky at 750 ft up ,but i spent a couple days at seasalter and i now know where the sun goes down ( other side of Faversham lol )

Are you buying or selling?
Im after buying a big carbon footprint if anyones knocking them out ..roll up...roll up ,pullute much as you like for a small dividend ...bit like ulez but massively global ,do what you like as long as you pick up the tab ,but we all know the price is very high ,anyway frost this morning only a ground one but it was decidedly chilly

Shame that cirrus wasn't thinner and part of a drier atmosphere. That would've been ideal for cloud iridescence.
Blimey thats a word ,i thought that was the old flickery lights you had in tubes in the kitchen ,talking of flickery I've heard no lightning or seen any thunder but lovely cloudscapes ..this is all directions ..but funny enough after this mornings frontal band just bits and bobs

Almost certainly the LP. There is seasonal affective disorder as well which can cause feelings of depression. Linked to less sunlight which leads to lower serotonin (mood regulation basically). A heavy head doesn't usually coincide with s.a.d (I wish they would rename this!! Pet peeve...flipping labels!) so I'd say it's likely Ciaran
Try and find an activity you enjoy Emz. Something that will focus your attention.. a puzzle, reading your favourite book, playing with the pets, going for a walk (exercise = great for low mood as it releases endorphins aka "happy hormones")..All natural mood lifters.
If none of the above appeals, have a chat with a friend! Or even drop me a DM if all else fails. I'm a huge advocate for better minds! Look after yourself..
Perfect ..spot on

We gone from a strong sw and rain to a blue sky and no breeze at all as it went over ,to more west then north westerly and raining again ..so the old saying was, turn your back to the wind and hold hand out to your left ,that's the centre of low ,near on ,give or take 100 miles

Apart from a few gusts late last night, you wouldn't even think Ciaran was a thing.
But I've woken up feeling quite depressed this morning for no reason, my head just feels sort of heavy. I can't account for this feeling at all, so wonder if it's the low pressure!
Rainy, cool and very blustery now.
But to us humans high pressure is stressful, got to do this and that and the other ..low pressure well it's a walk in the wind isn't it ,a free for all ,happy as Larry, which is only a couple of storms down the line in the name scale ,maybe it's why they call it a depression, because you feel low ,like hurricanes and typhoons etc they hate interacting with nothing if possible, shear madness is worst enemy ,then interacting with upper low ,but if you (the tropical disturbance) are near on the same height, then they are a thorn in the side not a problem ,so to them they are solo or so low 920 mb even 950 mb but over 100 odd miles not 500 miles

Good Morning all, again.
Thought I would ask a couple of Netweather's Forecast Team, regarding the lowest Air Pressure that has been recorded in our Region, for November.
My interest was sparked by Laura Tobin on ITV's, Good Morning Britain show, earlier.
Laura made reference to the above but I didn't catch the figure or date/time period mentioned.
Sent P.M.'s to both Jo Farrow and Nick Finnis, in this respect.
Jo has kindly got back to me, and sent me the following link to the Roost Weather Site.
Evidently. this chap works for the Met Office
The lowest Air Pressure ever recorded for London in November, is 965.4 mbs.
The figure for Kent, is 965 mbs. The figure for Surrey, is 966.2 mbs.
A big thank you to Jo, for her help with that info.
Just waiting to here from Nick F. now.
Meteociel - Pression atmosphérique observée en temps réel en Royaume-Uni
As you can see from the Meteiciel Pressure chart below, the eye of Storm Ciarán is now exiting the East Anglian coast.
Regards,
Tom Q.
Yea be good know ..I got an app on phone it gives air pressure and elevation....I have it for winter months so I know quickly what highest hill is quickest and hopefully see snow ,not that mountains are common here and i think If you get a week of lying snow etc etc it's a dying phenomenon here anyway ..but not to big boys on big hills or mountains, but transferring 600 asl to sea level ,guess I could look online work out if app was near on ,but centre of was I think near on over me @ 954 mb but 600 ft up ..let's see huh

Back in the storm now, but only light rain and winds, sheltered from both the west and north west here, so expect it's over for us.
Fresh north westerly ,no rain ..as I think a enough is enough ...Halloween that was ,she 'the witch 'gave us too much of a dry spell and now overcooked it with a instant wet spell ..I'll have to take that wand away..

Calm here in South Woodham Ferrers, and raining. I can see it's rained a lot over night from my flooded garden. I'm guessing I'm near the centre when there's so little wind!
Yea definitely..its coming over you on its current trajectory..look for the blue sky ..its sunny and gorgeous up above ..but belting down again now

As always as in early spring ,autumn we have , i can see it but doesn't quite get here ,because usually it rides to the south ,not that Tonbridge is north but it is to the people who live south of it and if relatively warm waters is your fuel then the tanks empty by here ..but lovely cloudscapes ..(a northerners view of a southern shower ..:) bit of an up date we have some residual over spill (rain ) core seems south of maidstone with out looking at radar of course

Didn't see any lightning here last couple of days but gusty winds and fair bit of rain last night ,but yea we have had a fair bit of rain but really only making up for what didn't get lots of weeks prior ,sort of self leveling shame water doesn't understand the flooding bit ...300 odd hours away but we will see if it still modeled in a week or two ..1987 anyone ...

Not been outside this morning since getting into work, but it was very mild at 0700. No huge puddle s around when i left home, so assuming the rain was not as heavy as expected in SE London. Some sun shining through now in Westminster.
Got rainbow in Bromley this morning ..what no lightning tonight ? its becoming a bit of a habit ..here anyway ..

Looks like Sleepy hollow if you remember ?..this is not really weather related but area related last friday ..there was constant rumbles ..well not constant but regular ,to the point in whitstable the cups rattled like an earth quake i guess, now i worked in a lime stone or say ragstone quarry in West Malling and we blasted it ,it went whooomph ..couple of people would complain but it was once a week and minor really ,this was something else ,so people in south essex or north kent would have felt it and felt is the word here ..cant be good because if it was near whitstable theres no rock to blast.. if not it must of been miles away MOD maybe but that cant be good ???
