I thought this precip would never get here but it has and it's intensifying.
-
Odd burst of moderate snow but overall light snow
-
The occasional snow flurries here too.
-
Did the bbc mention that?
Yeah, Nick Miller
-
Just mentioned on the TV forecast that the warnings will be upgraded and that a red warning is looking very likely for some areas! :o
-
There is so much twaddle posted on here at times. Let's get some positivity and excitement in here people!
Exactly! If there's a slight downgrade it 'rubbish' 'typical' 'as usual' and 'we will get nothing'. If there is a slight upgrade or it stays the same, they don't mention anything! Hmmmmm...

Do people just make up their own forecasts out of thin air ???
-
I can't believe how negative some people are

BBC weather now showing the heavy snow symbol for Friday, first time I've seen that for ages.
-
Just about to hit -5 here when the forecast says it should be -2 now!

Update on met o yellow warning covering much of the uk 10cms over some places im suprised no amber warnings have been issued maybe later on today?
I've just read on another thread that the Met Office said on Twitter that amber warnings will be issued around midday.
Edit - Amber warning out now for the West Midlands
-
If temp still below freezing it could be frost.
I assumed that because it was already frosty it wouldn't get anymore without the temperature dropping a lot.
Edit: the temperature has dropped here since 8am so it is probably the frost.
-
It must have snowed a little bit. Everywhere has gone a lot whiter than it was before and it can't be the frost.

Maybe this time tommorow or perhaps even after the 12z tomoz. If they show exactly as is shown now then you can look forward to it. The fact is at this range. 100miles east or west is still easily plausible. Not only that the speed at which the front does or doesn't cross your particular area could make a big difference. As things stand id say places south west of Birmingham are all but certain to see heavy snow at some stage. Further north east is more risky but could still turn out to be the best place if like gfs 06z shows the front stalls down the spine of the country.
Really? I hope so

Looks like a very cold day today and -6 for tonight my phone says
-
This might seem stupid but what makes the Met Office seem more confident about snow later on in the week to issue a warning. I thought at this stage it can change lots?

I can see a big area of precip coming from the irish sea towards cheshire on Will it Rain Today? | Rain radar for the UK | Going to rain? | MeteoGroup
I missed that altogether Too busy looking at the radar for over my house

Seems to be snowing where it rained this morning. Hopefully everyone can see something
-
Its amazing how quickly everywhere goes white, all roads covered now too.
-
It's certainly gone a lot colder now, you can really feel it.
-
This must be the first time I have known when in the morning everywhere was covered in snow. It all melted throughout the day then by the evening it has started snowing and everywhere is covered again!
-
Is it snowing in Halesowen then? Rain here
Yeah, given a slight covering to cars.
-
Nice to look outside to see it snowing
-
Rain -> Sleet -> Rain over and over. Come on, snow please

It stuck to the fields a bit higher up earlier but now it's starting to stick to the pavements.
