    arghh, I can see a few flakes!

    A few spots of rain, then nothing more, even though the radar shows lots.

    It's certainly feels cold enough to snow! Radar shows some precip just ahead of the main band but nothing is falling.

    It seems the rain showers are dying away. Are they meant to get heavier later on?

    It's absolutely chucking it down now. Knocked out the sky satellite and the cars had to slow right down on the roads.

    Strong gusts every few minutes.Weather forecast said worst of the winds will be about 2/3 this afternoon for here.

    You can see how the PPN has increased over the last few hours.

    Looks like a lot of rain expected here then but they still seem to be holding back on an amber warning.

    The tv forecast just showed the heavy rain going around the SW but mentioned the south coast, the midlands and northern England

    All I know is the warnings came into force from 6pm

    Shouldn't there be another amber warning for the Midlands then? Most of the models seem to predict a large amount of rain for here now.

    Well it is meant to just rapidly develop later on and most of the warnings are for the spell which develops later on.

    Yeah, I think they are just waiting as the day goes on to issue more. I'm expecting more.

    I know, but going on their matrix warning thing, the impact is already set to the maximum and the only thing that is stopping it from being a red warning is the likelihood of it happening which obviously increases as it gets closer.

    I expect more orange warnings soon. The weather forecasts showed the majority of the heavy rain in the SW which already has an orange warning moving over the Midlands, so I expect they are waiting for it to be in a closer time frame. Maybe a red warning for the SW? The only thing that stops it from being a red warning is the likelihood which as it gets closer obviously increases. The impact is already there.
