Seems to work on Windows Media Player but it's sideways! Oh well I tried
-
Ok, so the falling snow is quite hard to see but you get the idea. I've asked him to try and do another with a dark background - he thinks I'm mad...
I hope this works. Enjoy
Edited to say: Sorry - you might get neck ache!
-
I will later. He sent it by whatsapp and I can't upload it directly so will do it after I've taken my son to the doctor! Being a mum gets in the way of my snow obsession!
-
Get him to put some in an insulated box and bring it home for all of us here then please!!
I'll try! He's just sent me a video of the snow falling as well. I could quite happily sit all day watching that and sipping Gluhwein...

Just seen my first lying snow of the winter!!
Unfortunately not in my back garden, but on the tops of the Brecon Beacons where I'm on holiday. Still, beautiful!

Hi there!
I'm on holiday in Brecon again and there's snow on Pen-y-Fan and some of the other mountains round here this morning. Beautiful!
Hope there will be some more snow showers overnight!

That was reverse psychology, by the way - I'm just pretending I don't want snow
-
Emma - it's not you, its the weather - usually you would be welcomed with open arms and force fed Welsh cakes until you could pronounce Llanelli without spitting on everyone within a 5 mile radius. But mother nature has found it fit this year to disappoint us at every turn and the forum has been very quiet of late! Hope your holiday was good - and that you had a better welcome from the 'actual' locals. xx
Ahhh thank you! I love Welsh cakes so that would be fine by me, and my uncle is from Llanelli so I've had some pronounciation practice! I feel like I'm almost a local myself!
We've had a lovely relaxing holiday and we really don't want to go back tomorrow. Maybe it's better for me if it doesn't snow tonight as I'd have to be dragged home kicking and screaming!
-
Hmmm yes, I thought it was going a bit far east for me. I'll have to turn the snow magnet on to bring it west! Has anyone actually seen any flakes from that pretty pink patch?
-
A belated Croeso i Gymru!
Thank you!
It's frustrating watching those showers fizzling out over Ireland, isn't it?
-
Lol! Thank you for your mild welcome. I think it's safe to say we won't be snowed in for our journey home - unfortunately... I'd love to stay longer...
-
Bit disappointed by the lack of welcome in the hillsides (or the Welsh forum)...
Anyway, I'm off home tomorrow, so I wish you a snowy winter next year
-
Greetings lovely Welsh Netweather members!
I've been on holiday here in Brecon since Monday for half term. I wish I could have been your lucky snow fairy this week as we had a bit at home and I was hoping to bring some with me!
We're leaving tomorrow so I was wondering about the chances of a pretty dusting over the Beacons tonight to wave us goodbye. What do you think?

Well I definitely wouldn't class Oxfordshire as London & the SE. Buckinghamshire is a bit more of a grey area!
I'd put Oxfordshire in the midlands section - in terms of weather. Especially north Oxfordshire.
It is tricky - I never know where I should post so I end up floating between here, central south and 3 counties. Feel a bit homeless really!
-
Because the Met Office include Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire in the London & SE region for some reason.
Where would you like to put us then?
-
Steve - ah, guess it's a blip then.....didn't think snow was forecast but got excited when I saw that on the MetO forecast......
There's a blip forecast in High Wycombe too - shame! Let's keep our fingers crossed anyway...
-
Damn, but good while it lasted aye? We had 11cm in Headington,Oxon, not far from you, how much did you end up with in the end?
Regards,Mark
I measured 10cm before I went to bed that night (my birthday!) and we had a bit more after that so probably about the same as you. It was already falling off the trees in the morning though.
It's now pretty much just on the grass and footpaths. The roads are clear - even our private cul-de-sac. However, I'm not on top of the Wycombe hills so I think there's more up there still.
Is your snow cover holding up?
-
Light snow in High Wycombe! That's a nice surprise! Too damp to settle anywhere except on the (rapidly diminishing) lying snow.
-
The carrot nose fell off our snowman this morning and landed at a very suggestive angle. I had to replace it on his face before the neighbours complained...
-
Lots of dripping here - I don't think there will be much of our snow cover left by tomorrow morning.
According to the Met Office website, temps are rising rather than falling here. What happened to the frost?
-
Lots of thawing here. Drip drip drip... And the temperature seems to be rising so I don't think there'll be much left tomorrow
-
Apparently 100 cars have been abandoned in High Wycombe.
Lucky we cancelled our plans to go out for my birthday then! Had a few drinks, a takeaway curry and a roaring fire instead...
-
10 cm in High Wycombe. Still snowing but not long now according to the radar. i hope it doesn't turn to rain...
Still - a fab birthday present!

He seems to think it's more than that, but then he's a man...
So jealous... Wish I was there!
