  1. looks like the guys in the east and north are going to get quite a bit of snow today, I read that when it gets upto Scotland it could sit there for a very long time and give large amounts of snow, I hope they all enjoy like we did when we had ours on fri. I also read that some think the snow event for tues, sounds as if the temps could be to high, and they think only places like beacons will be snow. i hope they are wrong and we get snow all the way from milford to Bristol from coast to top, then sit on us for say 3 days ha ha then move to our friends over the boarder.

  2. hi all last night I had the feeling that we was going to have a 82 type winter but after reading the model thread today it sounds as if we are going to go mild fairly soon. I still think and I don't know why, we are going to have a major event very soon. there is no proof for my thinking just a gut feeling, there is a elderly gentleman by me and he doesn't come out much but I saw him today standing on his door step and I said this snow is quite bad isn't it and his answer was I think it could get much worse,i asked him why you think that and he just said its about time and it feels like the past winters. I don't know how many bad ones there have been in his life time but he thought this could possibly be another. he also said winter don't start until jan.

  3. The models do appear to be suggesting an end to the cold spell towards the weekend. However looking at the strat thread, and fair play to the forecast of the Sudden Stratospheric Warming, it looks a temporary lull as it is set to turn colder once again at the start of February, with perhaps heights to the North West, as the Vortex remnants might be set to move to our North East.

In the shorter term, Monday does look quite dry unless the front pushes further east than currently projected. However Tuesday looks quite promising and I don't think it would be as marginal as the past event.

hi I just been reading in model thread and they seem to think the temps be too high for snow in our area (wales)next week, its showing much higher temps but they are predicited temps? if we could keep low temps over us we really could do well in this next week as there seems to be quite a few storms that could battle over us. that be fun ha ha,just wait and see what the next few days bring as reguards to cold and snow/rain

  4. A quieter weekend now - with alot less snow if any - but it ain't gone away - next week - prep for further extremely bad coold weather again - monday/tuesday and possibly wednesday too

Hi Andy what would you say are the chances of snow next mon/tue and any idea of amounts if it does come, reason I ask is I will have to move my car down from here to main road if we do have much snow because the council never clear up here and got important hospital appoint next tues and next thurs, and if I leave car here got no chance of getting out, unless the kids get the shovels out and dig the 400 yards ha ha in fact they going to have to do that anyway as I cant see this stuff melting very soon lol.

  5. Well what a mad outlook Snow from east Snow from the the west it MAD !!13012018_1818.gif

that's the stuff I was talking about on here earlier and some thought it would not make land (the stuff to our west that is). just goes to show how things change doesn't it,i really have got a feeling now that next week could turn this winter into a very memorable year, its just a gut feeling, there is ice hanging from roof and windows and snow stuck onto the side of house and the last time I saw anything like this was 82, todays snow may be the start. better keep an eye out as we will need more bread and milk, and maybe more ale ha ha

  6. sorry to go off subject all but my mate on here Foggybrynna has just become a dad 10 mins ago, his wife just gave birth to a baby boy, congrats micky (Foggybrynna) even you had snow today ha ha (private joke) be nice if you could all keep the snow away until Monday and then blow it all down to brynna as No one loves snow more than Micky and he deserves a good dumping so he can stay in and watch it with his new born son.

  7. Here you go, they indeed look interesting! (84hrs hasnt updated so dont use it)

At 36hrs we have a weakening occluded front which should bring moderate/light snow showers to most of Wales, (however it would weaken quite considerably when it passes over the Beacons so mostly western Wales seeing the lighter snow, with the east seeing the more moderate snow)

thanks for that but I am not sure what to look for ha ha,need to learn,i know how to build snowmen does that count lol

  8. Meteociel.fr for the fax charts and for afew others( i like the graphics) and weatheronline.co.uk for lots of other charts

Lots( most) other people like wetterzentrale.de ., i just dont like the lay out.

thanks for that just need to understand them now ha ha

Thank you ever so much.I was going to ask you in the model thread but i posted there yesterday and got shouted down like a school boy in the headmasters office.I am just wondering so if needs be i can re-arrange work as i'm self-employed but at least i know if needs be now i can have a back up plan

sorry posted wrong place ha ha

  9. I would not go that far yet, especially as when I checked the models yesterday it looked like getting less cold next week. NIce though.

Tony is there agreement on the models for less cold or are they arguing again lol? and guy across road from me told me a few hrs ago that Monday/tues could be very snowy as well, any truth in that or is it too early to say? I have seen charts for snow but they was for east uk mostly and very far eastern areas of Wales but not south.
