Struggling to spot the diff at +96, if anything it seems slightly further east?
To my untrained eye everything seems to be (although not by much) a bit further west?
-
Yes this shows how much milder it is in Portsmouth & why I can be crying when it's raining here & snowing just a few miles further inland!
It is currently 4.7C here & looking on Wunderground it is 0C in Denmead, 2C in Havant, 3C in Hilsea & 4C in Gosport
Ah Im Rowlands Castle, 5 minute drive from Havant, its now -1.4, was it meant to be this cold before the front arrived?

Oi this thread is south AND south west
On South Today they showed sleet/snow possible for Berkshire/Wiltshire/N. Hampshire but rain everywhere else, not that I was expecting any here of course
Today was sunny & 8C after dropping to 5C last night & chilly already this evening at 5.2C
Amazing that you say this, because i am literally about 12 miles North of you and its -0.8 degrees...!

Wait for the ens, could be an outlier

Supposedly reports of snow near southampton on twitter.

Hi guys, as a lurker and learner im not a regular poster on here just an avid reader, but im located near portsmouth, its currently 1.7 degrees and falling (only got up to 3.5 today, not the 5 predicted) and the precip is approx 50 miles to my west at the moment, I know im not forecast an event of any sort but surely if the precip is heavy enough when it arrived and temp doesnt increase too much i could see some flakes on the leading edge before it turns back to rain?

hi, i am just wondering what, if any signals to look out for that maycause a SSW event, or are they something that are hard to predict and effectivrly just happen ?
-
They sky to my south has gone from white cloud to dark fast moving cloud in the past 10 minutes... things are rather explosive today!
Thank you continental air for your sneaky entrance!
im only about 5 minutes from you! Chances on storms today? not looking great.
-
Just wondering if T-storms are expected to form behind the cold front as with along it, currently only had a spell of heavy rain, no thunder or lightning...yet.
-
Can confirm first rumble of thunder here, very deeep and loud oop theres the second!
-
every single storm running along the south coast looks to be a direct hit for me, then flicks just north over portsmouth to make me literally on the clouds edge!
-
you may have another on your way as just started to thunder here
The one leaving me seems to be intensifying and growing rapidly, anyone got reports?
-
sky getting darker again, sky tv keeps loosing signal...... is storm number2 about to break out???? anyone know if any heading for hampshire?
Im due east of you and a heavy shower has just passed giving only rain, yet its still just about over me and now giving regular thunder, not sure how much is left to come for us...dont think its heading for you..
-
Amazing how many different wind directions are occuring at the moment, several storms seemed to have been on a crash course with me today and have veered away only a couple of miles before hand, and the different layers of clouds its easy to see the inflows to the larger storms!
-
Anybody in the Fareham area who can report on this little lot please?
Edit - Thanks Purplepixii !!!
Im in Rowlands Castle (PO9) and can report it is just a litle to the south of me, seen several CG strikes, and thunder every 5-10 seconds, sorry couldnt do a direct report but its the best i've got! Very heavy rain, CG strike just occured again, huge cloud tops behind this storm should be able to do a better report on that
On a seperate note, as a lurker in these forums i have finally re-found my account, had a hail and rain storm at 10 to 11 lasting 16 minutes, and had 14mm of rain out of it.....!

I'll go -4.8 in my garden as we have already had -3.8 this week
