Is it me or is the precipitation being pushed towards South Wales? May see some moderate snow if it intensifies over the Bristol channel.

That's definitely heading towards south Wales, whether it can maintain/increase intensity is the question.
Would you say it's all over for Thursday night now?

The last few sentences were "potential" for it to get wet but uncertainty on whether the mild will win or the cold so there's potential for snow as well so something to keep an eye on
In other words they haven't got a clue whats going to happen at the moment
Sunday before last they backtracked last minute to forecast snow, maybe this will happen again.
-
Quite a lot of showers heading towards Wales, whether they make it is another question.
-
Maybe they'll put a warning out for 2-5cm if not they obviously think it'll be a dusting at best.

Not sure what area in wales you are looking at. Metoffice has the atlantic bursting through for my area with rain saturday, sunday and monday
Same here, sooner we end this cold spell the better. It's clear we're not going to get any decent snow.

This morning's modelling, including the latest UKV, is not the best for any significant snowfall for our area.
I won't bother posting the charts, as they really aren't worth it, but essentially a sprinkling for southern and western parts overnight Thursday into Friday and a brief snow to rain event for more northern and eastern parts on Saturday with things turning much milder from there on.
Like others have said, if this is the best we can get then roll in an early spring convective/storm season (although admittedly, there's not much sign of that either).
It seems like our snow event is always a week away and everytime we get closer it vanishes. I'm happy for it to warm up now, it's clear we're not in luck for a major snowfall.

I don't understand the the negativity NO mild weather ,stay away from model thread.
Where did you get those snow amounts from? I can't see any model saying 2-4cm end of the week.

Terrible morning output...enjoy the dry and cold while it lasts
This is why I find it pointless checking charts 7 days away when we don't even get any snow for a couple of days time.

The ECW thinks its doesn't get that far and no snow at all , going out on a damp squid. What a poor cold spell if its right.
Yep don't expect any snow, by the looks of it the snow isn't even going to reach us.

Jay, how long have you been a member of this forum? You should know by now that nothing is a done deal when it comes to the weather in Wales until atleast half an hour after it’s happened
Since 2008! Crazy nearly 13 years, didn't realise.

Got a feeling it's going to keep changing every model run, maybe they can't nail it down.

The snow is back on according to the ICON.

Didn't think I'd be back on tonight but the 18z ICON brought me back. To model goes down a different route and reinvigorates Thursdays night front over Devon into Friday, providing some notable snowfall for many parts of the West Country;
Worth bearing in mind, it's very much the outside scenario at present, not much (if any) support for this on Friday, but hey, we need all the straws we can get at the moment.
Can we all bank this.

Any chance of Thursday nights snow making further inroads? Or is it a done deal.

Remember folks
We have no issues getting Precipitation here in Wales, its cold we struggle to get.
We have the cold and it will be difficult to move.
Breakdowns are our best option and Storm Emma was an attempted breakdown.
Models have hinted at a transient snow followed by rain even, now hinting at extending the cold instead. So we can not only see opportunity extended, but also chance of multiple attempt at failed breakdowns. Nothing is nailed on by ANY model including Met Office hi rez.
This can still be a very good even where everywhere in UK will have seen significant snow
Scotland ❋
East England ✻
Very good chance that South West and Wales will get it soon ✻
Central England follows ✽
Now with that as a fair possibility i would say its better outlook than all of last winter

Met office showing temperatures rising from Saturday, not sure if the cold is going to stick around.

The precipitation is definitely pushing towards South Wales and Bristol, looks like there could be some moderate snow if it keeps intensity!
