  1. Richard Angwin usually has a good handle on these sorts of events, and a quick spoiler before the weather had him talking about a possible major event.
  2. Could be some showers passing through, but temps looking pretty marginal. Had short spell of snow turning to sleet and now rain in NE Bristol. Tribe3000 reports rain in Central Bristol. You might get something if your under a heavier shower, but I think its pretty much all eyes on Thursday's potential.
  3. Temp 2C DP 0C Marginal, unless the ppn can drag down the colder air. Plus temps should drop as night sets in. Minus 5 850 line set to pass over Bristol at around 21:00 according to 12z GFS, (with milder 850s from the south) so not looking great from that point of view, but who know??!!
  4. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/ Click the "motorways" check box on the radar and see the effect of the nation's traffic on our weather
  5. I fear you are correct re: Bristol Tim. Thats' probs about it unless something miraculous happens. With the low progged to head towards Dublin, though, theres a chance of showers later on from the stuff swinging into the South Coast maybe??
  6. Great post Roger. The area of precipitation extending around the M5 south of Bristol has just been spinning and dumping. I thought we'd had our lot around 19:30 but now the Eastern flank is coming back to get us!
  7. WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! Getting heavier here if anything.
  8. This is fantastic that spinning low just keeps bringing the snow back to me. Not amazingly heavy but I can see this lasting for a few hours yet!
  9. YES!!! Come to Bristol!! I'm in Winterbourne and to be fair, it hasn't stopped since I got home at 18:00, albeit its been pretty light.
  10. Whatever happens - the latest radar (20:00) shows more precip building on the east side and heading back towards Bristol lol "SNAP!" BristolBlizzard
  11. According to gfs and Roger's post the low is progged to move NW??
  12. That seems to be the centre of the Low. If it starts to track North West we might be in luck in the Bristol area, although thats a bit of a long shot
  13. Looks like the heaviest of that stuff approaching Bristol will be to the south.
  14. I'm UWE too. Could be chaos getting out of here this evening with that lot about to dump on us
  15. Plenty more to come for Bristol, don't worry about that.
  16. Thanks for the info kernowman (nice nick!). I was just a bit worried about the temps down there. Looks like you should get some of the good stuff soon enough. Excellent news that even Cornwall is getting in on the action!
  17. Anyone know what the showers are doing down in Cornwall. I'm wondering if it will be snow in St Austell as I promised somebody it would be lol. Still coming down in North Bristol and plenty more to come by the looks of it in a few hours.
  18. Nice heavy snow here in Filton. Should be with us for a good hour. (And its intensifying!!)
  19. Excellent. Been on and off all morning - that looks more promising. Thanks for the update.
