According to gfs and Roger's post the low is progged to move NW??
-
I wish I was in Wiltshire or Dorset area now, that moderate/heavy ppn has been over them for ages now and barely moving. It hasn't really fizzled out either, if anything intensified a little.
Anyone from around that area in here? Lucky sods lol
That seems to be the centre of the Low. If it starts to track North West we might be in luck in the Bristol area, although thats a bit of a long shot
-
Looks like the heaviest of that stuff approaching Bristol will be to the south.
-
Is that heading for North Bristol Or to the south?
BOTH!
-
I'm UWE too. Could be chaos getting out of here this evening with that lot about to dump on us
-
Plenty more to come for Bristol, don't worry about that.

Kumquat I'm getting reports from friends of colleagues at work that light snow is falling in various parts of Cornwall from Penzance to Bodmin, nothing major though. I'm in Truro working today and we have had a very very light fall of grainy snow about 1/2 hour ago but the skies are now turning increasingly grey so maybe something a bit more substantial coming.
Thanks for the info kernowman (nice nick!). I was just a bit worried about the temps down there. Looks like you should get some of the good stuff soon enough.
Yep now snowing in Boscastle and sticking :lol:Excellent news that even Cornwall is getting in on the action!

Anyone know what the showers are doing down in Cornwall. I'm wondering if it will be snow in St Austell as I promised somebody it would be lol. Still coming down in North Bristol and plenty more to come by the looks of it in a few hours.

Just starting to fall here now in Westbury-on-Trym.
Bullseye green patch on rainfall radar looks headed for me.
Nice heavy snow here in Filton. Should be with us for a good hour.
(And its intensifying!!)

Sleet??!!!
Are you sure???

Nothing yet for North Bristol and looking at the radar - all the good stuff is heading south of me. Might get a few flakes later - hope the precipitation looks better in the morning.

ECM 12z showing a fantastic northerly at T+144. This should be a great week for the UK and Eire in general.
-
I think with the current wind direction, anything hitting Norwich will pretty much hit Bristol if it makes it this far. Trouble is there is a great big gap in the showers for that area at the moment. Still its early days for us, but would be nice to see a few flakes tonight before the real stuff comes tomorrow.

Thanks for the thread, both JohnHolmes and PeggySue. Very enlightening. I also struggle somewhat with 3D visualisations of what the airmasses are doing so any further help/pointers to links would be appreciated.
