  1. Extremely windy here in the West of Ireland!! wind has really picked up in the last half hour (we are now on the southern flank of the storm centre). Trees are taken a good battering, leaves flying everywhere.
  2. Beat me to it! tremors increasing too. something stirring? http://hraun.vedur.is/ja/oroi/esk.gif
  3. Mag 2.1 EQ on Katla. Rising trend on the esk tremor chart? http://en.vedur.is/earthquakes-and-volcanism/earthquakes/myrdalsjokull/#view=map http://hraun.vedur.is/ja/oroi/esk.gif
  4. Thanks milkmaid! I can't view that one as I haven't installed the required plug-in. Don't know what that means
  5. Just spotted that now! it's showing up on the tremor charts though so maybe it's correct? http://hraun.vedur.is/ja/oroi/esk.gif She ready to blow? Anyone got a webcam link?
  6. All sounds good to me! I can't see this trough( over the BI) lasting throughout the three months of summer. I've a felling that this summer will break the trend. ; - ) btw, Gaga rules!!!!
  7. This system has been named Ts Carlos, with the track being very un-predictable. I hope it doesn't follow the track of the black arrows ( towards pine creek) as i worked there two years ago and the area is very prone to major flooding.
  8. Another EQ near Katla, just clear of the main icecap? and greater than one in magnitude. Also tremer charts on the rise (esp esk) http://en.vedur.is/earthquakes-and-volcanism/earthquakes/myrdalsjokull/ http://hraun.vedur.is/ja/oroi/esk.gif Interesting!
  9. hey! i'm also goig to salou for two weeks from the 18th. The general synoptic situation to me suggests that the mid atlantic ridge will be in situ for quite a while yet which suggests that it won't be too hot as there will probably be a northerly wind. It is far too early though to make any prediction.Thats my thinking anyway, but i hope there will be some nice storms.
  10. With this high pressure to the north of the uk (which i think originated in scandinavia?), will there be some very low minimums this week?
  11. Hi all! not a regular poster but with the models hinting at a potentially prolonged cold spell , will there be any exeptionally cold minimums across the country? I would love to see our nearby lake freeze over again. I live in the west of Ireland.
  12. This forecast from met eireann isn't very promising, no mention of snow or even sleet!
  13. Interesting to see the jet still so far south at 180hrs, wouldn't this help to keep the heights to our north?
  14. SC24 is definetly getting it's act together! This is a southern hemisphere sunspot, along with sunspot 1005 (northern hemisphere).
  15. I don't know much about sunspots, but the last few small ones that have appeared are from SC24. They seem to be getting more frequent but are not lasting long.I'm just keeping my eye on them to see if they start lasting longer, then l'll know that SC24 has started for certain!
  16. Or, maybe not.... http://www.solarcycle24.com/index2.htm
